DMo: Scola 2.0. Develop a reliable mid-range shot and build up some strength and he's there. He doesn't have the length to be as good as Pau, but I think he can be a faster, taller, slightly better range, slightly better defensively...version of Scola. Scola once said that his biggest regret was that he wasn't a few inches taller. DMo is that Scola.

Robinson: Josh Smith, minus the chucking. Relies on his length and athleticism. Needs to become a dominant defensive force to achieve his maximum potential. On offense, he needs a mid-range jumper, and one post move other than the spin.

I'm really positive on all our PFs developing into at least solid starters...all they need is time. Having said that, the only one that I think has all-star type potential is TRob. As a rookie, the guy is built like LeBron. He's shown the flashes of elite athleticism, and it appears he has the drive to improve his weaknesses.

I think people are missing what this link is about. It's about which veteran these rookies should watch tape on. If I'm a rockets fan I don't want D-mo looking at ANYTHING that has bargnani's name on it

D-Mo doesn't need to model his offensive game after anyone, he already has a bigger arsenal of offensive moves than most big men in this league.

He just needs to get stronger to be able to utilize them more effectively, and he needs to be able to finish more consistently.

Also needs to work on his jumper, especially from mid range.

I think they have reversed. It should be DMo and Gasol. TRob and DLee.

Dmo's skillset is a bit too unique to pin to one player. He's gotta make his own footprint.

i think trob can be as good as blake is AT THE MOMENT (not much better though)
and i see dmo as a pau-lite b/c of his passing ability on the low block (15/8/4) type player

I like the Van Horn match for Dmo. I think Robinson could end up as a more athletic Humphris.

    Seconded.

Can't argue against DMo learning from Scola, either. Kid could use a consistent hook to fall back on. Although Scola's scouting report says he never goes over his right shoulder, he's worked on his left hand quite a bit over the past 2-3 years, and might have some good insight to pass down.

Any offense Robinson can bring to the table is gravy. He should be hurling himself at the rim a la Blake Griffin or a Philly era Charles Barkley. Running hard baseline cuts, looking for lobs, and trailing fast breaks for put backs. He's a decent finisher around the rim, but I cringe every time he puts the ball on the floor or squares up to shoot. I could also see him doing some damage setting high picks and rolling REALLY hard to the rim for mismatches or shots at the rim - that's where his athleticism can shine.

But overall, he needs to be out there bullying people around, frustrating the opponent, scooping up rebounds, and learning when to flash in for weakside blocks. Reggie Evans or Dennis Rodman kind of cat.

Josh Smith can dribble and shoot, though. Big difference.

For meESPN got the right team but the wrong player for TRob - His skill set and body is so different from Gasol, TRob should model his game after Zack Randolph. Scrappy rebounder, with shooting touch to almost the 3 points line, and most importantly, the ability to score in the paint. Something that TRob really need to be better at.

DMo- for me I be happy if he is as good as mehmet okur. Made his living at the 3p line, hold his own at defense.

Evans? Does more, like flops and cheap shots.

TRob has an inchoate skill set that requires effort and refining. I am believing he will grow into those skills.

Trob will be a better player than dmo IMO. players like dmo are all over Europe the only thing he does have going for him is he's young and fairly fast for his size. He's not long and has no explosiveness his standing vertical is basically non existent. Personally I think he's the worst big man we have on the team. When he's on the court he brings nothing, unless he's hitting his jumper which is once every 5-6 games. Greg smith is prob the best big we have besides asik then tjones then Trob.

All three of smith, jones and Trob do at least one thing positively everytime there on the court. Jones has been impressive but it's been such a small sample size I'd like to see him do this for at least the rest of the season. Greg smith is who he is I don't think he'll get much better but he's a solid player off te bench for 20 min a night. Trob is my wild card he has so much potential while the other two are more consistent with there games Trob is better defensively on par in the rebounding but is the only one who seems to be able to create his own offense. I don't think he'll be a bust at all I think once the game slows down he will be at worst a solid 1st big off the bench 25-30 min type player.

Tjones I think has no bust potential he can be a solid starter in the NBA for a long time a 13/9 2blk type of guy who has a knack for the offensive rebound which is a big time plus for any team. While he is young I'm not sure he's going to be able to create offense for himself which is why he's a solid starter not Allstar potential IMO.

Greg smith is a big energy guy who can play big in 5 min spurts. He's a guy that every team in the league needs but is not really that hard to replace. I think he's almost hit his peak but then again u never know with young guys just my 2 cents.

Trob has the most Allstar potential he's long strong decent size in shoes (6'9) and is one of the fastest/quickest bigs iv ever seen with insane athletism. He has a good feel for the game and has good court vision. The holes in his game are workable (jumper, finishing around the rim) I think these will get better in time as the game slows down for him. He has good shot mechanics and is able to get good looks at the basket almost everytime he just doesn't finish at a high clip right now. He can be an amare/Blake griffin type player all three have similar size and athletic ability. We're Trob can really set himself apart from all other pfs is on the defensive side of the ball he could be the best defensive pf in the game IMO. His lateral quickness and strength give him
The ability to guard players 2-5. He has alot to work on but the motor as work ethic are there and when u put that with natural ability and elite athletism you have a player with star potential.

Dmo I don't see anything from this guy he's too cocky and not strong enough to do anything in the NBA right now. I'm not sure added strength would even help him because he would be slower and even more flat footed going for rebounds. He's my least favorite player that gets minutes on the team I hate when the guys on the court. He's a big negative out there and doesn't do anything to help the team. I'm still wondering why mchale is still giving this guy minutes. If mchale doesn't won't to give Trob minutes that's fine but dmo shouldn't be getting any either he's been worse IMO.

Motiejunas is nothing remotely like Marc Gasol. Motiejunas potentially is a Chris Bosh type of player on offense (if he STOPS standing at the 3 point line), with worse defense.

Nothing even remotely similar to a Marc Gasol kind of player, and never would be.

Edit: read it wrong. Motiejunas to Lee. Still don't see it.

Bosh would be the right guy for him to try to emulate.

Hint* David Lee passes the ball better.
