Bynum will get it. It's a popularity contest.

One would have to because the West lost its only true center in Yao.

I have often advocated the same. I wonder why basketball positions are divided as such, the 4 and 5 are much more similar than the 3 and 4. IMO, the point is the unique position, where as 2 and 3 have overlapping jurisdiction like the 4 and 5.

Splitting hairs about ultimately meaningless labels. It must be the off-season.

Of course you'll want Eric Dampier starting for the West.

You guys are all wrong. It's gonna be Greg Oden.

    Amare and Duncan aren't centers.

I doubt it... he didn't open up any eyes this season. He's already had 4 years in the league and he still can't dominate.

So what he bulked up, he still sucks. His only good stats are against significantly shorter and less skilled big men. His offensive game, while it has gotten slightly better, still sucks. He has no post moves.. all his points consist of lay-ins and dunks.

He was healthy this post-season, but why didn't he play?

There's a reason why Phil Jackson didn't play Bynum often in the post-season..

..and to think he was the "missing piece" in the previous year's playoff run. I say the Celtics would still have beat LA with Bynum.

The good news is that 90% percent of the league is shorter and less skilled than him. I'll admit he struggles against the strongest centers. Oden, Shaq, Perkins, Dwight, Yao....that's about it. Jefferson, Chandler etc. are not really a factor. Time will tell if he can gain enough confidence to pick on guys his own size, which I believe he will.

When I watch the game I look for patterns. Remember that this kid was a project and is learning on the job. On a Monday he will find himself in a strange situation and not know how to handle it. By Friday he will have it down and won't make the mistake again. I mean that literally, he's done this over and over during the past two seasons which is what makes him so fascinating to watch on a game by game basis. I'm sure you know a few players in this league who make the same mistakes and play with the same tendencies day in and day out and don't seem to mind themselves.

The thing is, he's always had a freak accident right when everything starts to click for him and it sets back his development. He was healthy enough to play in the postseason but nowhere close to 100%. He should be coming into next season healthy and experienced. I expect him to average a double double and 60% FG. If he's not close to that then you're right, he sucks.

I'd like to know who you think the starting center for the Spurs was last season.

    Matt Bonner?

Amare might have to play center for the Suns so logically He could be vote in unless Poppovich decides to use Tim as a center.
