They should definately end it. Its like when they tried That 70's Show without Topher Grace and it sank like a stone.
I'm with most in that they should just end the series once he leaves...part of me is bummed out that I'm saying it should end, but part of me is hopeful too that they'll finally resolve Michael's love life interest.
They should do a deal where they never show the new boss, they could always refer to him and things he does but somehow he's always in his office with the door closed or out at a meeting. Maybe his name is Bob Sacamano.
Jimmy James <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RzNUg_IcKrI&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RzNUg_IcKrI&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
And Ed Helms was. The Office and The Daily Show are quite interconnected. Just about anyone on TDS would be hilarious on The Office.
Some people who work on the office also worked on newsradio, so maybe they would be interested in jimmy james.
In cases like these, I wonder if things like this piss off the other actors on the show. For most of the other actors on the show, this is their bread and butter. They will make more money from this show than anything else they will ever do. I would imagine the majority of the cast would like to go as long as possible to make the most money possible, and Steve Carell leaving is basically an ending to a lot of their income.
They already make a ton of money off of repeats on other networks. The actors from friends I know make a ton of money still off syndicated episodes
Doubt it. Professional acting is a lifetime of rejection and either poverty or compromise; and I think experienced ones realize that a successful, long-term sitcom gig is an exception to the rule. They might also be suffering from the same "cabin fever" Carrell is, wondering what else they can leverage out of their higher profile. Also, I'm thinking the secondary but full-time cast members are each making at least $50,000 - $150,000 per week, doing that for 5-6 years will probably take away a lot of resentment. And there's gonna be syndication cash for at least the next 5 - 10 years.
Not to mention that, like us, they realize that Carrell is the entire show. The gravy train rolls only as long as he wants it to and, like us, they could see the writing on the wall that he was going to be moving on soon. He's been doing more and more movies, and is getting more and more money. He was the biggest, most recognizable actor/name going into the show, and he's by far the biggest, most recognizable actor/name now. There really was no other way this was going to go down.
That's sickining cash. To think that Creed comes in and maybe does one line every episode and gets paid 50k-150k for that.
whoever said to get rid of pam and jim, i totally agree! they are so boring and create the only dull moments of the show. getting zac galifinakis would be great as well.
