that would probably be the only thing that saves the show.

I just think the show has run its course.

Anyone suggesting Bret Michaels did not watch the Apprentice. Bret didn't say one negative thing the whole season.

Gus Johnson should be the hands down favorite at this point

If not here's a short list of alternates:
    1) Nick Swarsden
    2) Andy Bernard
    3) The guy who plays Kenny Powers
    4) Ron Jeremy

Are they even going to do another season? I heard this season's ratings was the all time worst in Idol history and now that Simon is leaving...who is Seacrest going to try to constantly flirt with?

Yeah, he's very much a people pleaser. And he would spend all of his time hitting on the women that tryout for the show...he'd probably end up getting kicked off for some sex scandal. lol

He would help keep ratings up, though. So it seems feasible.

I watched bits and pieces of this season and it just seems like the last few seasons they haven't really found any unique talent. Everyone is starting to sound like everyone else that has been on Idol.

Billy Idol would be the best choice.

    See that is perfect......

He lost out on MILLIONS...when they chose Seacrest...whose career was made.

If he was good enough to be on the show they wouldn't have fired him in the first place! NOBODY will tune in specifically to see Brian Dunkleman, plus he trashes the show every opportunity he gets.

Didn't he choose to leave Idol himself? I thought I remembered hearing that he thought the show wasn't going to take off or something like that.

Anyone suggesting Bret didn't have anything negative to say all season didn't watch the week Sinbad was project manager.

Gene Simmons should have been on my list.

Great suggestion, man. Saw him not too long ago on disBand, a Canadian show in which no-name bands try out for the industry big wigs and talent scouts... Gene gave some spot on critiques.

My son gave my wife the Rockband mic the other night and told her to sing whatever she wants. He also told her if she sang crappy he was going to fire her. I think he'd be a perfect replacement for Simon.

I admit I missed that episode, but the ones I did see, Bret was non-confrontational and did not get in anyones way even if it was to his own detriment.

If AI is looking to replace Simon, Bret would be an anti-Simon. If AI is looking to fill a seat, Bret could be it.

How about we cancel American Idol? :) is that an acceptable solution?
