Wafer > Tmac? I sure as hell wish I had you guys in my fantasy league. A couple of hot shooting games and you guys think he's going to be the next Kobe Bryant, when in actuality he's just a crappier version of JR Smith. Hmm... maybe its not a bad idea after all. Instead of us being known as the injury prone Rockets, we could be known as the team with a better bench than starters.
Except T-Mac's played like crap all year. 15.5 ppg on 0.388 shooting. If you chose T-Mac for your fantasy league you're getting killed.
Starting Wafer is an "I love you" move. Although there is no doubt Wafer could become a future 15/4/4 player, his talent is still raw, and opponent defenses around NBA has yet to adjust to his offensive capabilities. However, I can't say it's a bad move. I'm 100% sure Wafer will hit a slump like Aaron did (unless his past 4 years were his slump), it all comes down to the time needed to adjust to it. I know for sure Wafer can adjust to it, so starting him is only a good idea if you want Wafer to draw more scouting attention early so he can adjust to it when and if we enter the playoffs. Right now playoffs are my concerns, seedings are not. When it comes down to playoffs, it all comes down to matchups, which is why defense is so important. We have to see how Wafer handles on both defense and offense, and if we plan to use him in the playoffs we have to see how much he can do. The last thing I hope is another Luther out of him. That being said, I know a few easily exploitable advantages opponents can take which they have not taken yet (and I'm sure they will soon). Wafer lacks handles and a reliable left hand. The only thing Wafer has in his arsenal to beat defense is speed, and he is damn fast for a SG. However, when defense adjusts to it, we will have another Brooks incident. Opponents have already adjusted to Brooks speed, so he can no longer exploit and rely on it completely. You can imagine Wafer attempting to beat a man off his dribble when he lacks cross-overs and the ability to use both hands effectievly. It would be damn hard.
Wafer played with more energy right now so it's clear and easy. AND TMAC could get back the position anytime when he's 100% ready. Not only physically but also mentally. When TMAC do know how to fit in the team then welcome back.
i understand what you are saying DD, but it is good to have his scoring ability coming from the bench...imagine tmac coming from the bench
I want the most effective players playing the most minutes, and right now Wafer is more effective than Tmac. DD
When TSlack plays a lot of minutes, we lose. By the way, great defense again by TSlack. How many times did people drive around him? How many times did he leave his many open? Horrible. Start Wafer and give TMac 8 minutes a game. Maybe not even that.
