With the addition of CP3 there has been much discussion on how Harden and Paul will mesh. I am curious on how Clutchfans feels about the question "who is the leader?" Harden: rockets tenure, 2016 stats, contract... Paul: experience, established leadership role, true 'floor general'... D'Antoni: head coach authority, easy scapegoat with 2 ball dominant players... I feel that for a team to be truly successful, a leader (spoken or unspoken) must be established. We have already seen video where CP3 seems upset at Harden, and Harden just dances, then gives a rather aggressive hug to CP3, seemingly to shut him up. This concerns me. Cp3 is the type to communicate everything, even to the point of annoyance/redundancy whereas Harden is more of a lead by example type, which is usually but not always effective (see game 6). I don't feel like D'antoni is going to suddenly become an authoritarian type coach, especially with such strong personalities in Harden and cp3. I have an idea of who I think should be the leader but I want to know what everyone else thinks. Keep in mind the question is not 'who do you think will become the leader,' but rather who do you think should be the leader.
Chandler Parsons, Ryan Bowen, Bobby Brown... Just some advice, if you want to pounce on some early thread knee-jerk humor, it helps to make it funny.
I saw the greasy Keith Jones with uber greasy Chris Christie slammin back full cheeseburgers like they were potato chips. I went to go take a **** and when I came out of the stall, Jones and Christie were doing fat lines of coke over their brand new Galaxy S8 on the counter. They offered me a bump, but I politely declined. They were soon escorted by 7 hookers, one being the Hamburgler, into greasy Christies hot pink Hummer limousine.
Side question: who will be the team captain? When we had both Harden and Dwight, the team captains were Parsons, then Beverley. Will we go a similar route now that we have two stars again and give Ariza the honor?
I believe Chris Paul should be the leader . It's the most natural fit for him all things considered. James is an amazing player and obviously the most talented, but maybe in some form Chris Paul's discipline would rub off on Harden. Would also help Harden stay more focused and I'm im almost positive Chris would be the ultimate motivator.
Harden should be the leader because he's the best player. Usually the best player, especially if they are a superstar, is the leader. But, Harden really isn't the leader type. Paul will be the leader, and hopefully Harden will follow.
Harden was the leader last season, but given CP3's age and knowledge of the game plus his willingness to turn every play into a teachable moment, I believe he'll assume that role.
If Chris Paul is Chris Paul, I'm afraid of what happens when he goes Kobe on Harden. lol. This season could be interesting.
LOL "no discipline" harden single handedly took us 3rd seed overall being in the west behind and ahead multi star teams
CP3 and it isn't even close. CP3's best skill is leadership. I agree with larsv8 up there. I think CP3 (should and) will fill that role simply by way of who he is. He oozes leadership and I don't see how he willingly takes a back seat in terms of knowing the game to anybody.
