I could argue forever with whom ever wanted to, Athiest or Not..... People who makes statements as "Dumbest Post of All Times"<<<< Not funny, check your rep maybe some one gave you some for that joke.... But I wont argue...

Jesus was not born on the 25 th of December..... He was actually just a toddler and had moved away from the manger... This is when the three "wise men" brought the gifts for the New Born King.... This could habe been adopted as the first Christmas...

So why did I say its a celebration of Jesus's birth????? Because it is, not a celebration of Jesus's actual birthday but his birth in general.... a newborn king who came to earth to save us all... Would nobody exist if Jesus had not come, no I dont think so.. People would still be here, but would there be salvation? No, there wouldnt be..... Salvation was offered thru the sacrifice.
    And I quote

John 14:6 (New International Version, ©2010)

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

    ^^^

Christmas time is a great time to relax and rejoice with family, create memories and share love.... But lets not forget what Christmas really means, not what Christmas means to you or what you think Christmas is about... This Post is for everyone..... Lets not make this a debate, or argument.... I wont argue but lets talk about it instead of insulting eachother and getting nowhere.....

I'm a non-Christian and I say Merry Christmas. Christmas and the associated stuff with it, gift giving, tree, egg nog, Santa Clause and etc., have become more about culture than religion. While some Christians may not be happy about that but Christmas has evolved, no pun intended, than what its original idea was.

I'm a youth leader and as someone who's life is Christ and ministry I can tell you that all of what you mentioned in bold is fine.... There is nothing wrong with that, if anything they create a beautiful moment and times never forgotten.... Problem is that God was removed from the equation, the same way prayer was removed from schools and the same way that alot of people like to live they're lives.. Without God.....

Just as Christians morphed a roman holiday, corporate America has done the same with a Christian one. In general I think Christmas has morphed into a more secular holiday.

This thread is probably heading to the D&D

No one celebrates Christmas because of Christ, they celebrate it because of Romans, booze, colonialism and shopping.

And that's fine. But you don't need to look down on people that celebrate the holiday more for spending quality time with their loved ones as opposed to for religious reasons. People that don't share your same religious beliefs are still entitled to celebrate the holiday in any way they see fit, just as you are. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make what they do wrong. You say the "problem is that God is removed." That's a problem for you, but it may not be for others.

Yup^^^ But thats what I am saying... "Christians adopting it as Christ's birthday is all wrong" People mess things up. Christmas is not Christ's birthday, he was not born on "Christmas".... But have you ever read the actual story of Jesus's birth in the bible? who king Herod was and the time he lived...

I dont look down on anyone, I think its great that people look forward to time with their loved ones during Christmas... Its all freedom of choice, to believe in Jesus or to believe in Santa... No one is wrong, to believe Jesus was born in Christmas is no different then to believe Christmas is about Santa becuase neither was Jesus born on December 25 nor is santa real... You think its not a problem for others to remove God from their lives, for some its not.... But for some, it is... But I mean, you know what everyone is going thru right? You see a smile and you think that person is happy... More than ever people are hurting, and from my expereince not belief I can tell you that only God in their lives have been able to change their situation...

Matthew and Mark, birthday celebrations in the bible were they christians?

Let's see how Jesus Christ wanted to be remembered in Luke 22:19.
