If the only alternative is Brooks, we can only afford Brook Lopez, even if we don't get him. I want no part of Mr. Brooks.
- Trey Murphy (NOP) use one of the future FRPs + Tate - Grant Williams (BOS) RFA S&T? - Sam Hauser (BOS) offer 2 SRPs + fits into TE - Patrick Williams (CHI) - Jordan Nwora (IND) - Jalen McDaniels (PHI) UFA - sign using part of Room Exemption
100% Tari is honestly a better option than Brooks - his length, hands, rebounding, 3pt shooting and hustle are perfect for what we need and I would have to think for what Ime wants. Brooks has a bad attitude, thinks he's better than he is and is not a great 3pt shooter and has nowhere the size and hands of Tari.
Too many good shooters. This is the Rockets. We don't like shooters here. Come up with a list of bricklayers, sir.
If we don't get a solid 3 & D wing, I'm guessing we'll run with 3 guards, Jabari at the 4, and Sengun at the 5...this lineup will give us the optimal spacing for our playmakers within this lineup Sengun Jabari KPJ J. Green FVV
I think there will be a battle for that spot as there should be. I would hope that Tari is the guy who makes that jump though. I think he’s got a ton to offer if he can just play a bit more solid. But KJM could take a jump this off-season and I wouldn’t rule out even Cam or Amen being better than we think faster than we think.
I am tempted to start KPJ at the 3 before going out and signing Dillon Brooks. I would rather the Rockets try to get Brook Lopez.
Porter Jr needs to be traded. The Rockets do not need a ball dominant player like him starting at SF and I don’t think he’s a great culture fit with what Udoka is looking for.
He should. His best attribute is defense, so his value would be at its highest as a starter. Him playing with the second unit while being such an inneficient scorer would be bad.
Rockets' plan is to sign B.Lopez to START at the 5 Sengun or Jabari at 4 is a training camp decision. Ime Udoka likes big lineup, if Sengun can hold his own at the 4 then Jabari will start at the 3 and that's what i'd like to see. Jabari is actually better to start his career at the 3 where he can just shoot over the shorter defender with 1-2 dribbles, like KD did in his early years. he's not yet capable to drive by the 4s but later in his career when he's stronger and picks up some handling he can move to the 4 as KD in his later years. Tari on the other hand, should have play more at the 4, where he can drive by the bigger/slower power forwards. Tari is strong and has the handle to drive, also a great rebounder and weak side help rim portector
I see NBA positions as a question of "what size players do you guard" and not offensive roles, while everybody pencils Amen in at the PG, he's just a bit under 6'6 barefoot, is 215, with a 7ft wingspan, and has insane athleticism. The PG and SG rotation I imagine, baring a specific trade, will be something like PG: Van-Vleet (34) / Porter (14) SG: Green (34) / Porter (14) Then you got Washington / Christopher as 3rd stringers, considering our depth, and Amen's measurements, it seems like he should slide in effortlessly at the SF spot. Whether that's starting, backing up Martin, Eason, Dillon Brooks, or some other FA signing, we'll see.
KPJ can adjust to a backup SG/ SF role if he is willing to listen and work with Udoka. It won't be easy for him, I admit.
