Whoops my bad, I do use PDANet just didnt list it for some reason cuz it didnt show in my downloaded apps.
Do you have to pay for the apps? if yes, is there a chance in the future you'd have to pay for the apps?
Some apps you do, others you don't. All apps are def not free, they used to be; Google then opened up the market to developers to charge for their apps. I like one thing tho, the fact that you can buy it but if you don't like it, you return it within 24 hrs for a refund. Very few quality (worth buying) apps as of yet, but they're balanced out by free apps that are just as good or better. Gotta weed your way through the market or pickup on lists that other G1 users have of their favorite apps.
Ah well.. that just killed the G1 then... I mean everyone was trouncing Apple for their selling apps.. now the G1 has nothing that's really that much better than the iPhone except for that free developers kit.
I thought about rooting my phone and updating, but I'm a wuss. I modded two of my old HTC phones (T-Mobile SDA and Wing), but only after I already had a replacement phone. I'll just wait... I am in love with my phone and the physical keyboard was the main reason I didn't want an I-Phone. Oh and the MMS! I don't have that many apps. AK Notepad Black Board Exact Call Log Flashlight Linda File Manager Missed Call My Account Night Clock Ringdroid Shazam ShopSavvy SnapPhoto Sticky Toddler Lock Twidroid Txtract I have reallly small hands and had the same problem for the first day. I learned how to adjust my hand to the right position and haven't had a problem since.
The one thing I really didn't like about the G1 was the feel of the keys. They were too flat and not raised enough. I got used to it, but then I switched to the iPhone. I never thought I'd like the touchscreen keyboard, but to me it's still better than the G1 keyboard.
the only thing i did to mine was hack the multitouch.. still a little choppy but beats pressing the zoom buttons when browsing the internet
Yeah but once you get used to a touchscreen, the need for the physical keyboard isn't there anymore. I can do without the extra weight and thickness .
There's a few Android phones coming out without a physical keyboard, along with ones that include a physical keyboard before the end of the year.
