John Mayer kicks ass. Some of his best song were on his earlier albums. A lot of rap artists like him too. (Kanye, Jay-Z, etc.)

I don't care much for the John Mayer Trio though.

It just sounds bland and neutered to me. Nothing interesting, or intense, or groundbreaking.

Obviously, you are trying to derail this thread. We're talking about John Mayer.

Sorry, but that is ridiculous. Batman Jones is one of the most offensive posters on this board, and the small selection posted by Trader_Jorge easily proves that. To say he's been restrained is a joke.

I must be out of touch. I'll give it a listen before I buy anything. Maybe I was thinking of John Mayall, who I've seen many times. Now he is cool. I remember seeing him in a small club in the Village, in the Rice University neighborhood, when Mick Taylor was playing guitar. That was in the '60's. The guy has mentored so many great blues guitarists it's just rediculous.

SJC, do you even read Trader_J's posts??

Hard to believe the poll is so close. When TJ trumpeted the necessity of "stealth" and denounced the "serving of a warrant" as blowing the cover of an operation, well...in terms of BBS "Classic Moments", let's just say it could only be rivaled by the revelation that MacBeth was Jesus.

Exactly how I feel about the D&D. It's the main reason I never really got started in here. I didn't want to be hated by other BBS'ers for such stupid things. I find myself better off not flinging poo around.

Yes. I didn't read the thread this thread is about, though. But I have seen enough of Batman Jones' posts exactly like those Trader_Jorge quoted - I think saying these posts are "restrained" sort of takes away a bit of the credibility of your "Keep D&D civil" mission... provoked or not, these posts are not "civil".

Kind of hard to stay civil when someone slanders you and calls you a troop hating, America hating, democrats = domestic insurgent, Osama lover. Don't you think?

Crap, I accidentaly voted for T_J as I'm sure many others have. The thread title is who owned who, and then the poll question is who got owned? Very misleading and leads to innacurate poll results.

Yet Batman has no qualms about calling the Catholic Church a bunch of hate mongering bigots...

He did no such thing. He pointed out the hypocrisy of the church. Be it catholic, presbyterian or baptist. Please point out an instance where Batman labeled the catholic church a bunch of hate mongering bigots.

I would be willing to bet that some of our resident maroons have multiple accounts that they voted with.

I guess that really depends on whether you consider accusations of being on the side of the terrorists or Saddam Hussein as an "insult." I have definitely seen more "cursing" from the left side of the BBS aisle, but it has ALL been in response to slander like the above.

I guess this doesn’t qualify as an attack?

By the way BJ, still waiting for a response to my post in that thread.

im catholic and i dont see his comments as an attack on my religion, but the issue of why there is a rule requiring no homosexuality for 3 years, but no such rule in place for heteros. priests are supposed to be celibate so it seems that any sex, gay or straight would not be tolerated. why just the distinction for gays?

the policy does indeed seem bigoted and hypocritical. he was just calling it as he saw it.
