I think we both agree that Jalen Green is not that good but key here is we are stuck with him this year. My point if he has to be on the court, we need to utilize him in a way most beneficial to the team. I hope he can be like Ja Morant with an open paint but I am not saying he will or even come close but it's definitely whole lot better than having a crowded paint where JG will just take these ugly step back threes all day long.
What makes you think he can be like a Ja Morant? He can't dribble without getting ripped. Ja morant has some of the best body control in the air I've ever seen from the player as he just hangs and spins or does whatever to avoid the defender. Jalen's only move is drive straight at defender try to go over him and fail.
That's pretty telling and passes the eye test. There was a big Jalen only fan (won't name names) who always quoted Cleaning the Glass to support Jalen but I didn't have access to the site. I don't see the pro-Jalen argument being made by that person anymore via this site. Thanks for posting this.
Time to start Amen or at least more minutes playing with the starters instead of Jalen https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/t...de=Totals&dir=D&slug=traditional&sort=FG3_PCT https://cleaningtheglass.com/stats/team/11/lineups#tab-four_factors
Gotta admit, I was wrong, I gave Stone WAY too much credit. He doubled down on stupidity and the Rockets are paying the price for it.
You have to do contortions and backflips to convince yourself that what you’re seeing is wrong. It’s Silas’ fault…it’s FVV’s fault…it’s Sengun’s fault. If only we opened up the paint when WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANYONE EVER OPEN UP THE PAINT FOR A GUY AND A TEAM WHO CANNOT SHOOT?? No one…Jalen included…keeps defenses honest. And our expectation for Jalen was that he’d be the lead on offense. HE IS NOT THE LEAD ON OFFENSE. I’m sure that’s someone else’s fault though. He is not a lead guard. He’s not a guy you build around. He COULD be a nice piece on a team that wins a title with limited “microwave” minutes change of pace stuff. When I see the posts that want to change up all we do to make sure Jalen has it easier, I literally want to jump out of a building Putin style. It may be Stone’s fault or Silver’s fault or my fault or @YoYao ‘s fault or @SpaceCityKid ‘s fault or your auntie’s fault, but Jalen is not that guy. He’s just not. I’m not interested in having our team bend over backwards to accomodate him. And no I don’t hate the guy. I coach kids that are way more difficult to coach than Jalen. One is in DAEP right now becuase he beat the **** out of a kid. We’re working on it, and I believe in him. Jalen isn’t a bad guy at all!! I actually love Jalen for being so team oriented. I sincerely believe he’s trying, and I’d love to buy him a beer and talk hoops one day. I have nothing against him personally. But for our purposes here as fans of the Rockets, he’s shown us too many times he’s not the #2 SG draft pick alpha. He will NEVER be first or second team All NBA…and he likely won’t make an All Star team in his career …though I’d LOOOOOVE to be wrong about the former and would root like crazy for him on the latter.
start jalen for trade value pull him first after 4 minutes run him back in with adams when sengun needs a blow let him run the show with the second unit handle and jack it alongside either reed or aaron for shooting spacing rinse and repeat until the deadline hopefully his numbers improve with him being the main threat with the second unit when sengun sits
