Your opinion means nothing. You never have any rational or logical analysis. Never anything significant. And responded to my post with a completely irrelevant and contradictory point after demonizing Westbrook just 4 years ago.
You said we only hate on WB and Green but not Sengun, NOT TRUE. I hate him too. If you’re going to point out the truth, better make it the R-Truth, sucker.
Sengun does not receive the same amount of hate and vitriol. This is facts not opinion. You are but one fan. Read all the messages since 2021. The answers are there for you.
lol of course this is facts. He's playing soo much better than Jalen so why would he receive the same amount of hate? If he sucked as bad as Jalen did he would receive hate. Actually because of where he was drafted he'd probably no longer be on the team...
That’s you opinion based on limited analysis, data, and knowledge. Your analysis is only as good as your knowledge, facts, and data without bias elements. Sengun makes quite a bit of mistakes on both ends. Launching a 3 late in critical situations when that’s not his game. Tendancy to foul players in the paint leading to and 1s. Moving screens. But yet seen as high IQ. Again tale of 2 worlds. Relative. Bias. I apologize for your ignorance.
Can anyone explain to me how Jalen Green is tied for 11th most defensive win shares in the NBA behind Alp and FVV, in front of Brooks and Smith??
Self explanatory. You do not understand what you watch on the court yet formulate an opinion not based on facts but biased judgement
Jalen with three really good performances in his last five—that clutch 3-pointer last night and some of his buckets around the rim were so special. The problem is those were sandwiched around bad games against OKC and Golden State. All I want for Christmas is more consistency from Jalen. He has all the talent to be that guy, but he's got to be more consistent and have fewer duds. In four December games, he's at 21/4/3/2 with 43/39/89 shooting percentages on only 14 FGA per game. I'd be thrilled if we got that guy for a full season, but he was so awful in November. I'll hold out optimism for Jalen as long as he keeps giving us nights like last night. But if he wants me to make a believer out of me, I need fewer no shows or games where he has more FGA than points. A good game against the Warriors this week would be huge—he was terrible in the two matchups against them so far this year.
Sure, the TLDR is because defensive win shares is not a very good stat. The more detailed version is because defensive win shares is basically just "defensive rating" multiplied by minutes played. Jalen and Jabari have the same defensive rating, but Jalen plays more minutes, so more win shares. Dillon has a higher defensive rating (higher is bad), so less defensive win shares. You can google how defensive rating is calculated, but in a nutshell, it can only look at the box score and it can't watch the game. So it has no idea who's guarding who, or who is getting the stops, or who has to match up with the best player, and so on. The author of the stat has acknowledged this, and has pointed out that the stat has no way to identify which defender is being tasked with taking on the toughest matchup, and things like that.
Lol you are the ignorant one. You can look at any stat and advanced metric and Sengun blows Jalen out the water. He's up there with the likes of many super stars in the league why poor little Jalen ranks like dead last. Keep hoping Jalen turns it around but you can't even tell me one thing he's actually good at. Below average at literally every skill needed to be successful in the NBA. It's a long game everyone makes mistakes no perfect player. Problem is all Jalen does is make mistakes then he gets hot 1 out of 10 games.
This isn't really fair. Like I agree with you that Sengun is clearly the better player and stronger building block overall—eye test backs up the data, too. But Jalen's athleticism and first step are still elite, and he's become a pretty solid on-ball defender. His free throw shooting has been a pleasant surprise as well this season, as he's getting to the line more this season and shooting 87% there—he's easily the team's best foul shooter right now. I get that the criticism of Jalen has been mostly deserved, but let's hold up on the negative hyperbole on the kid. He's has some big games for the team this season when they needed it, and he's made some incremental improvements in key areas that should help him become a more consistent player in the long-term.
Ahhh now I understand what you're thinking. I did not want to just presume.... What is my opinion & biased judgment on this matter?
Ironically...Amen should start and Jalen should be the 6th man, and he'd likely be the best 6th man in the NBA. Would make infinitely more sense and the results on-court would improve.
That is why solely looking at metrics is useless despite what many idiot fans continue to believe in. A combination of stats, metrics, and unbiased evaluation of player performance thru experience, knowledge, and context is needed to explain the phenomenon or problem you want to answer. But for starters Green stays in front of his guy forcing difficult shots. We saw this in the last few games and throughout this year and last year. Again what is biased narrative as opposed to what’s actually happening on the court? Example: Bias/misinformation: many fans on here wrote off Amen saying he couldn’t shoot and played against high school kids in OTE and therefore any evaluation of him is inaccurate or useless. They spat at OTE and discredited it saying it wasn’t a “real” league. Truth: He decided to forgo senior year playing in OTE. He played against combination of players from FIBA, 5 star recruits, high school NCAA prospects, and U17 players. His playmaking, speed, and defense was spectacular. Mike Miller his shooting coach knew it. Scouts knew it. Execs knew it.
Bro, why are you so angry? Is Jalen your cousin? People will have differing opinions. Don't have to go scorched earth.
