wont know for a while, just got the guitar for christmas. but I would imagine as guitar playing requires more nimbleness of the fingers, it *should* help improve my playing on Maiden songs.
I play keyboards in a local band. We're not trying to hit it big or anything, just having fun. But we're pretty good, if I do say so myself (in case any talent scouts peruse these threads). I also teach piano and played the flute when I was in HS. I was dang good at it too.
Not in a band although I wish I was, maybe in the next life I will be. Torn n Frayed is a drummer in a local Houston (I think it is Houston) band and a damn good one at that. Clutch Crew mod Jeff (Balke) is in a band or was in one - the last I remember was that their name was "Orange Is In".
I play guitar in a band called The Serfs, http://www.myspace.com/mnserfs I saw Jeff's band Orange is In a few years ago and they are pretty good. I've also seen RocketmanTex a few times and he is a really good blues guitarists.
Why wait to start making music in your next life.if you start in this life i'll be more easy to pick up in the next life.
I'm in a band. Lead vocalist with some guitar mixed in as well. We've played a few gigs in the past (Avant Garden, Last Concert Cafe) but we haven't really done much in a while due to schedule conflicts, and whatnot.
After I eat some beans and, in fact, today... I can make some beautiful music. ♫ The more you eat, the more you TOOT. ♪
I play mostly with Wedding/Private Party Bands. The main one I play with now is called Buzz and the Blue Cats. I play with another band on occasion called Soundproof and I sub in with ImaDummer's band, Infinite Groove. I play with a little big band called Third Coast Swing and I have a jazz trio that plays on Thursday nights at the Chocolate Bar in Rice Village. I play at First Baptist of Katy on Sunday mornings and sub in at Second Baptist - Woodway for their Saturday Night services. I used to play with a ska band called Secret Agent 8 from about 2000-2003. We won the Houston Press Award for Best Horn Section in '03. I also played with a band call Six West. A couple of members from that band are now in The Last Place You Look. I've also played briefly with Ryan Scroggins and the Trenchtown Texans as well as 80 Proof, an 80s cover band. I played with the UH Downtown Civic Jazz Orchestra for a couple of years too.
Yes, I play drums and sing a bit with Inner Lights. Our youtube page has 3 recent live songs; http://www.youtube.com/user/innerlightsband?feature=mhum Next show is a Landlord Landry production, Jan 27th at Walter's. By rrliled at 2010-12-07
I played violin in some orchestras for about 10 years, but stopped many years ago. It was more of a thing my parents wanted me to do.
Was in a band from 96 to 01, put out two albums and a remix album. Toured for almost two solid years. The business side was horrible, but got to live a dream. In a two man project now, crazy electronic stuff with a pretty dark side. It's all about the music this go round, finishing up studio work on my vocals. Not trying to go back in time and relive my younger years though, it's just in my DNA.
Most likely very hectic and disjointed with no chemistry at all, since we all play different kinds of music.
