Seriously I'm starting to miss him along with Bonzi...I've always liked Wesley as a person and as a player. He was a good man-to-man defender and a great shooter. His contributions were big with the Rockets. I don't know what happened to him since he hit the bottom of the backboard with the layup attempt but anyways, he's old now, he deserves a rest. Hope he becomes a good coach in the future.
Are you serious? I sure wont' miss his pounding the ball while he drives for a layup and then watch him miss it trying to draw a foul, and then crash into the camera men around the basket.
Wesley played hard but the guy was just asked to do too much. He wasn't much of a player by the time he came to Houston. Too bad we don't have a young Jon Barry right now to show Novak how to hit 3s when they matter and not in garbage time. Sura is and always will be a Rockets legend even if he only gave us one season. Ok, a little exaggeration there but he was a heck of a competitor and a better player than he got credit for.
Does anyone miss david wesley getting abused in the post by stackhouse? no i dont miss that. But, i must admit he brought toughness. Didnt he play on broken ribs?
Out of all the players that can be missed David Wesley doesn't really come to mind at first. However, when we traded Jim Jackson for Wesley I remember we were struggling pretty bad and Wesley helped with our playoff push. That trade for Wesley might have saved our season from not making the playoffs that year.
You're right. He was decent in his first season and I agree that trade did help turn things around. Man, I haven't thought about Jim Jackson in so long. It was a bad, bad time during the Jim Jackson era. Makes me appreciate 50+ wins for sure.
i miss them all. that team 2005 was the most entertaining to watch for me in recent years. too bad they broke down when the postseason arrived.
