Avery Johnson. Too small, couldn't shoot and 10 years later he's still playing.

Tall, unathletic, can't jump, lacks muscle definition but still an effective player?

I love how people say Sheed Wallace has "wasted" his talent.

How so? How could he be a better player?

Granted, he needs to shut up more often.

But to say he doesn't bust his ass when he plays is foolish.

Wallace is as skilled as any big man, something that doesn't come along without any work.

Speaking of all this Wallace.... I completely forgoy about my man B.G.! Brian Grant is not the most talented or athletic but I really loved him when he was with the blazers becuase he was so dedicated and determined to play the best to his ability. I guess people have forgot about him since he's been injured most of this season.

Good choice. "Rasta monsta" was one of my top 5 favorite players in the NBA when he was at Por.

Unfortunately his knees have slowed him down tremendously.

I remember how he went toe-to-toe and maybe even outplayed Malone.

The thing is that Grant isn't really an "underdog" although he's not that gifted.

I believe Grant was a Top 10 pick by the Kings in 94.

When I mean Wallace wastes his talent, I mean he AND his team could do so much better. I give the Blazers and Wallace credit for playing pretty good the last month or so, but Wallace has definitely lacked consistency over the past few seasons.

I think has been in the league long enough now where he should be the team leader and set the tone for the Blazers night in and night out, like a Duncan or a Garnett. I think he is just as talented as Garnett and Duncan but if you substituted him for either of those players I doubt the Spurs or T-Wolves would have nearly as much success.

I think he is capable of putting up 25 and 12 every night, and leading his team to a top 3 or 4 seed every year. Maybe my expectations are too high for him to begin with, but he played so brilliantly a few seasons back against the Lakers in the conference finals. He has shown little or no improvement since then, especially mentally. IMHO :)
