Kenny Anderson Kenny Walker Harold Minor JR Rider Isiah Rider (hey, he has two names, but neither of them produced like he should) Kendall Gill Robert Horry Marcus Camby Joe Smith There's a million more.
Exactly. I mean this guy was maybe the top three player in 1996. He is still not that old. I think he is 32 now? He could have been just hitting his prime.
Rockets-related: Lewis Lloyd, Mitchell Wiggins, John Lucas If these guys could've stayed out of trouble, how good would the Rockets have been? NBA: Greg Osterlump
Might not have been a popular choice on this board or maybe i just expected too much out of him...but Robert Horry is my pick never really lived up to those Scottie Pippen expectations
I thought the Rockets milked Max for everything he was worth. He may have fallen short on developing his abilities, but, at his prime, was still a pretty decent ball player. He was a GREAT defensive asset during our championship runs. I just wish he could have swallowed his pride and stuck it out. He might have been the difference the years after our second championship.
Ehlo sucked, but he was an overacheiver to be on the same court as Jordan (even though he was getting dunked on).
That thread about the McD's HS AllStars made me think of one more player. Ed Cota - Duke (Circa.1997-98)
Two more, this time from the national championship UConn team from 99 or 00 (Can't remember): Khalid El-Amin Jake Voskuhl Trajan Langdon In the same class and school with Richard Hamilton. They both got drafted by the Bulls and both got released the next year. Sad. Voskuhl could've been a steady backup center and El-Amin could've been a good backup PG if he'dve trimmed down his weight. So many PG's are on this list from major colleges who couldn't last in the big leagues. Avery, Cota, El-Amin, others. I wonder what happened to them? Was more emphasis put on the low post games at Duke and UConn? I remember Trajan Langdon was the key for Duke at the time and UConn's keys were Richard Hamilton, Voskuhl, and El-Amin.
Sam Bowie Vin Baker Tractor Traylor Jonathon Bender (even though they say he's "improving") Stromile Swift (soon to be on the list) Ed O'Bannon (used to be my fav player in college) Kandi Man
My bad. Thats why I said circa. Couldn't remember him being on the Duke team so I thought it must've been earlier.
Cota was never projected to do much as a pro. He never had a jumper. He was basically God Shammgod or Omar Cook. PGs who can't shoot aren't really in demand.
I hate to say it but, TJ Ford? Ford does have a couple things on Cota though:he is much quicker and is only a freshman.
