Same, can't stand the guy. Just plain can't watch NBATV if he is hosting.

I agree with everything you said really, but I had to point out your Andre Aldridge comment especially.

Now that was just funny. I find them entertaining. When Charles gets back they should keep C-Webb and GP up there.

I generally went to TNT to have a laugh but to NBATV to have a more analytical approach to the game, and in that regard NBA TV has gone down, but oh well I'll try not to be ethnocentric and enjoy Webber and Payton arguing.

I find them amusing. Its refreshing to hear how people "really" feel and not just the public fluff.

This can't be emphasized enough. I mean, most of us here are pretty big basketball fans who, if you're like me, are tired of the "knowledgeable" bball analysts telling you a bunch of boring s**t you already know (I mean Legler, GA, Hubie... come on, do you guys actually learn anything for their stock, cliche analysis?). But C-Webb and GP's ability to get such candor in their player interviews is golden. We get to see a side of these guys we'd never see, otherwise.

Plus, their hilarity (intentional or otherwise) is off the scale. Every Tuesday night they (along with the underrated Ahmad, who's pretty funny himself) have me cracking up. lol

I have to retract my statement about both Payton and Webber being horrible to listen to when together. I saw them on TNT together with Ahmad and it was not fun to listen to, but then I thought about times I've seen Webber in studio and I actually think he's pretty decent. Payton is painful to listen to most of the time. Webber actually had some good exchanges last night.

It's weird, but I can listen to Charles, but he's kind of a lovable idiot who can't stop talking. Payton just comes off as an idiot who can't stop talking.

History won't show it, but Paytone was the best pg in the league from 95-2003. Nash got the mvp's , but he couldn't hold a candle to Payton. That's who Rose reminds me of somwhat.

I like GP the player, but holy **** is he annoying in studio.

If Webber and Payton are being groomed, then I feel sooo bad for Ernie, because he will seriously be earning his Emmy.

Its a travesty that Payton isn't more highly regarded. He is easily one of the best 3 pg's in the last 30 years. Besides Magic, who can you legitimately rank above GP?

Nobody played both sides of the ball like him. Tenacious defender, can score 20 pts a game efficiently and get your teammates involved. Great leader as well. I'd rank him equal with J.Kidd with Isiah and Stockton coming afterwards.

I think Kidd is overrated. A great PG, but his inability to hit jumpers made it easy for teams to defend his teams.

I would take GP in his prime over Stockton and Kidd every day of the week.

Agreed. Stockton imo is overrated in that his numbers are a product of Sloans system. He didn't really have an impact on the game such as GP
