I am wondering where the racism was in what I posted. Go back to lurking with your 2 posts, all of which were flaming btw. Ban this guy. If you wanna know what I called him a thug... I played against him in highschool, one of our fans was heckling one of his team mates (not sure who anymore) anyways after the game was over he pointed out our fan and yelled HEY THERE IS THAT (expletive) GET THAT (expletive) and Green then instructed his friend to and i quote "put his head through that wall" so his friend whooped that guys ass and Green lumbers over to him and spits on him. You must either be Green himself in which case, I hope your friend enjoyed his prison stay, or somoene who loves to call names infront of a computer but would squirrel away in person.
Oh yeah? One time I was playing against Green in High School and I fouled him on a jumper. He then told his thug friends in the stands to kidnap my Grandma and hold her hostage until I let Gerald dunk on him. To make the story short, i ended up on a poster while my Grandma managed to escape Green's Mafia friends. They know have a price on my head!
Apparently you took my post in jest. I dont think of him very highly, and you are probably even lower than him for making light of a very bad situation at the time. I highly doubt youve ever encountered this clown in real life, if you have it would not be so much a stretch to place the thug brand on this commonplace miscreant.
I wonder how Green feels about Houston now? He was overly happy and even shaved a H on the back of his head. Getting cut must've been one big let down.
hahahaah, meaning, Gerald Green will kidnap your grandma until he dunk on his friends? and the thug friends just got upgraded to mafia. Anyway, i do not bother how is his attitude when he is in his teens, if he learn and grown up since then, i let it pass. I'm sure you could dig up alot of violence for alot of bballers. Dennis rodman comes to mind.
I believe your story because it is unusual that we did cut him after such a short time despite his potential upside. There must be some issues where they must have thought that he could be a bad influence in the locker room...immature, bad posse hanging around or something like that, and where they felt that before a bad apple spoils the barrel in a great chemistry situation as we have it now, they better cut him loose. That's the only way this move makes sense at this point in time.
Good, i didn't think Clutchfans had that type of person here but I don't think the previous poster meant to call you a name. He was probably just frustrated because that word "thug" seems to come from the same type of person everytime you hear it but not directed at the same type of person. I've been called one before and when you're not a thug it feels just as bad as being called a "boy" or "those people". I consider thugs to be people who steal, kill, and rape, real criminals. Its obvious that Green has some character issues, especially if what you say is true. I still won't label him a thug nor Ron Artest, or Allen Iverson. There is a difference and if you knew any real thugs you would know what I mean.
I am with you. The people that have seen Green play all say he is amazing (okay, right...). The people that knew of encountered Green all say he is a waste of life. Can't be all coincidence. People do grow, fair enough. But this punk obviously was a mofo back in the day and deserves whatever negativity comes his way.
The Rockets did not intend to do Gerald Green a favor by cutting him. They needed a bigger body, and they needed it now. They released Green on Saturday to make room for Rice product Mike Harris.
I feel really sorry for him for being cut o_o he said it was his dream to play in htown and now his dream ended. oh well..
Yes, because every other athlete is a saint right? Green just happens to be the only one that was a troubled teen in high school. Give me a break. Green's story isn't any different from a lot of the players in the NBA or any other athlete for that matter. What kind of criminal acts has he done after high school? Any recent arrest for random acts or violence or selling drugs on the corner? Has he been going to clubs and leaving in shootouts? Did he make the most wanted list yet? Exactly.
I'm okay with GG for Mike Harris who should have made the team in the first place. Especially with Landry going down, you're not going to see a drop off with Mike playing the same role. Gerald's mind set must be really off for him to get cut with those skills. His IQ must be lower than VY's.
wink2moochie07 isnt too far off... Gerald Green has what we call in the black community the "High Yella Negro Syndrome" basically he tends to think he's gods gift to earth and is a very arrogant and cocky sumuma-wench... who by the way fights like a girl His potential is incredible... but a bad attitude can ruin alot just look what happened to teams after they got rid of a marbury or look at portland after they managed to basically steal channing frye for zach randolph... if he comes back and has a better attitude and an outlook on life then good if not then he'll be playing on the knicks next year
Little humility never hurt nobody. Good for Gerald Green. Now maybe he can take a long hard look at himself. He's either going to get his stuff together and come back or he'll fade away and you'll never hear of him again.
Gerald Green needs a slice of humble pie and the chance to grow up and become a professional, if he does that he will be back in the league and hopefully with Houston. If not......then he is another athletically gifted player who just didn't have the work ethic to make it. DD
