I highly doubt that. If Rockets don't resign Green, another NBA team will. I bet he'll go back to Boston since they weren't very keen on giving up Green in the KG trade.

I think GG is a very talented player but just need to find his game and how he can adjust to ricky's system. I think like few more week he would be in the line up. GG playin style from what i seen is kinda like laundrys able to finish strong and got a pretty good mid-range jumper.

So long Gerald, I guess your dream didn't last long. Hopefully you and Morey already made a shady deal to come back next year.

    No shady deal needed.

Green was gonna be a FA this offseason if he stayed on this team. He's still an FA this offseason. Anyone can sign him, including the Rockets.

Nothing really changed, except I don't think we have his bird right any more (and frankly, I don't know if you are gonna need his bird rights to sign him anyway... something like the $1.91 million bi-annual exception is about all you expect him to make).

He's right, man. Fonde isn't just some pickup games; Fonde is what Rick Adelman is trying to have this team play like. Fonde Rec is like Houston's Rucker Park.

Call me crazy but if you're going to trade for a guy shouldn't you at least give him a chance before you cut him?

If the plan was to trade for him then cut him a few games later you shouldn't have made that trade in the first place. Granted, Green for Snyder itself was a lateral move but we essentially just flushed a second round pick down the toilet for no reason.

Green's career in the NBA is definitely on the line if he's getting cut for whoever the hell Bobby Jones and Mike Harris are.

whoa, whoa, whoa!! I'm with you on the defense but part of what is gonna give him more money than what he probably deserves this offseason is his great shooting range and scoring ability. If you've seen him play than you know what I mean. He's not better than the smalls we have playing now but at 22, 6-8, with his ability to score...

i just hope they sign on the cheap next year and give him some time to develop.

He just got caught up in the numbers game, with our 3 players out....Francis, Yao and now Landry.....we needed to use a spot to sign Harris and since we just signed Williams we can't cut him yet.....so.....GG gets cut.

I would not be surprised if he is brought back and Williams released in about 10 days.

Can we even do that? He wouldn't be able to be placed on the playoff roster, would he?

If GG was worth a damn the rockets would've played him instead of signing Harris. Or released Novak instead. Highly doubt GG will be back ever.

    Green=Ndudi Ebi.

I doubt that they just released hom after giving up a second round pick. A 2nd round pick that this year has become an important part of this team. Im sure its for a roster spot in preperation for the playoffs. I hope we just didnt give up a 2nd pick for a player we release.

totally different types of players but both very atheletic.

Green at 22,could be a very good wing player if he learns to play defense and stay within an offense.

Ebi is much older, is a big who is skinny and can't shoot, even if he was a better defender he would still be at a huge disadvantage.

Green has real potential, even if he isn't much now

I doubt that. Williams was signed for a specific need -- the Rockets felt they needed more depth at C. Green was purely a project. Green is gone for this year, in my opinion. I suppose he'd still be allowed to practice with the team? If so, maybe the Rockets continue to monitor him and consider signing him in the offseason.

Good riddance thug with no talent. Enjoy being a stiff packing my groceries at Kroger.

I will never EVER respect you for the lack of finesse you displayed after you played my high school you deserve this, should have went to college and got a degree.

Too bad you went to "school" in a shopping center that had only 15 students, all who only played basketball. Creep.

There is a reason his agent refused to let Green workout against ANY other draftees in the summer of 2005. He knew what he had on his hands.

Well I was comparing their careers. Both are from houston and made the jump to the pros. Both hadnt lived up to the hype the recieved.

I'd like to take this opportunity to end the Gerald Green good/bad discussions.

the good present: He's 22, athletic, can shoot, 6-8, good guard handles
the bad present: He's a horrible defender, doesn't play within himself or the offense, doesn't hustle

    in a few years
the good future: His worst attributes are things that can be learned and if he does with his height and speed he can be a starter in this league

the bad future: he doesn't learn and doesn't ever reach his potential

if we sign him for cheap there really isn't any downside. We need to take some chances on the future and he could be a good part of that.
