No one in Spurs can contain Kobe. He used to score 30 on a prime Bowen when he was young. Averaged 38 on a TD/DR duo in 2001. Now Bowen is gone. It's not even funny. Lakers vs. Spurs is 4:1 in the decade.

Favorite: Lakers - No question about it, They got Ron Artest to replace Trevor Ariza which is an upgrade. Artest will bring serious intangibles that the Lakers need including toughness. Keep in mind, I think they are just the favorites, I don't really think they are going to win it all. I think the media will believe the Lakers will win it all just because of the addition of Ron Artest and he'll probably be hungry to win it all.

Prediction: Celtics - If they can stay healthy in the playoffs, I think they can dethrone the Lakers. Simply because of Matchups. Lakers would have absolutely no answer for the improved underrated star Rajon Rondo. Derek Fisher would have absolutely no shot at guarding him, Rondo would just run in circles around him. Not to mention, you would also have Kevin Garnett's defense which is a serious impact for the Celtics.

That's just my take, I don't think the Spurs can take out the Lakers, even if the Spurs are healthy which would include healthy Tim Duncan and healthy Manu Ginobili. The Lakers just matchup well enough to take them out especially making Lamar Odom play Power Forward which creates a mismatch problem.

The Blazers could sneak in there if they make a few small key additions to the team. Like a premier defender in battier.

I agree. plus the emergency of an improve of Oden would boost their chances in challenging the Lakers.

I can see Oden becoming more effective as he gets adjusted to the intensity and speed of the NBA. Hopefully, then he won't get injured as much and can be a great center in the league.

I'd rather have the Blazers capture a title than the Lakers or the Celtics or the Cavaliers.

The Lakers appear to be the "run and hide" favorites, but watch out for the Spurs and Orlando. The Cavs and Celtics will be knocked out by Orlando.

I think Vince Carter adds some drive to a team that relies heavily on 3-point shots.

Likewise, I would rather a new team such as the Blazers capturing the crown instead of the common teams such as the Lakers, Spurs and Celtics. Oden could dominate if only He can stay on court. ( no more injuries )

Vince can use Dwight as an anchor were He can feed off Dwight's game. The constant double teaming of Dwight could lead to an open lane for VC's drive or open the perimeter for Vc's outside shooting.

The Orlando Magic lineup right now is what the perfect Tmac-Yao lineup should have been.

Carter can be the primary scorer/slasher, with Dwight being the dominating post presence and him being complimented by deadly outside shooters.

As long as they do not follow the path the Rockets took ( injuries ) then yes. The team has the capabilities of playing the inside and outside game. It is matter of how fast can this team can build chemistry. If they can do it as soon as the first month of the season then they can challenge the Celtics and Cavs for the best record in the East and perhaps the entire league.

the only reason i dont see the c's winning is because it will be impossible to stay healthy with garnett and rasheed wallace. also ray allen is old too.

    spurs cant contain kobe.

the cavs are too slow for the lakers or magic.

rematch of last year in nba finals, only this time it will be 2-4

No, I'm contempt with picking Boston over Orlando... Orlando is overrated... If Boston regains that HISTORICAL defense that they had in 08... they'll push the Lakers to the limit and possibly even win it all.

Nope. Orlando is just another 2nd round team. Change isn't always good. They pretty much completely tore the team down and rebuilt it in one off-season. Not to mention the Magic are now relying on a former quitter Vince Carter.

Along with that, Magic got much dumber IQ wise and defensively. Alston is one of the best defensive PGs in the NBA, Courtney Lee is a highly underrated defender and player, Hedo is a better defender than Carter in my opinion, Bass is more athletic than Tony Battie and that's it.

Orlando has been vastly overrated this off-season. Vastly.
