I do not think the Celtics are going to make the finals, but that's just me.

I'd love to pick Orlando, but they had even MORE talent in 94 and got swept.

Obviously they wouldnt be my favorites but the team I pick to win the Championship is whoever comes out of the East. Either Celtics or Cavaliers. I think the Artest experiment only works here with guys like Yao and Battier around. Not so much with fire material like Kobe around. Not to mention they have been too lucky on injuries lately with Gasol who was injury prone before.

the cavaliers are too overated, they dont have speed, which is going to be their demise this time in the second round against either the magic or celtics.
now say they get past them,
the west if full of power and speed.

you got speed in the blazers.
you got power in the mavs.
and you got a great combination of both in the spurs, nuggets and lakers.

i know the cavs wont take it this year, and lebron will leave to mexico and play basketball over there. nough said.

the finals for me is going to be either

    portland or lakers vs magic.

    i said it first.

I'll go with 2 teams not mentioned for the hell/fun of it. Denver and Toronto.

I, by no means, think they are the 2 best teams. They have made some nice improvements. I love the Ty Lawson pick as a change of pace guy at the point for the Nuggets, who had a great playoff run. The Raptors picked up Turkoglu, DeRozan, Jack, Nesterovic, Belinelli, and Wright. Lost Anthony Parker and the Matrix. Both teams finished strong last year, have nice depth at key positions and seem to have good team chemistry.

The Nuggets came very close last year to making it and need to play more consistently, and the Raptors will have to drastically play better defense. While the Spurs seem to win the championship every odd year, there hasn't been a back-to-back champion since 2002. There's parity in the league like never before. So why not the Nuggets and Raptors, lol, admittedly as a reach.

Anyone who says anything other than Lakers is kidding
    themselves.

They HAVE to start favorites. Simple as that friends.

I don't like saying it, but I speak the truth.

It has to be the Lakers. They still have an intact team. The Celtics are a fragile team. Injuries are bound to happen so with the Cavs.

    spurs are loaded this year

with tim losing 15 pounds this summer it should take alot off his knees to return him back to mvp form, with that happening, and ginobili being 100% like he claims he is and parker gettin better, with rj being a solid perimeter defender and another guy the can give you 20, and mcdyess being the best big man next to duncan sine robinson, and Roger Mason getting all these open 3's

wow will the spurs be scary and have alot of young talented players also yall will see this year

spurs vs boston in the finals-spurs in 6

cavs will not make it past the second round if they meet boston or orlando

uhh... what? you're just naming players now. there is a slight chance that bynum will improve, but he looked atrocious in the playoffs (i know he was coming off an injury). Fisher is not the same player and Sasha is just another replaceable role player

Technically the Lakers are the top b/c they won it all last season and still have mainly the same team. Champs always start at the top because they technically still are the best team.

The Spurs are the team to look out for. Bruce Bowen was not their best defender last year, he's not as quick as he used to be. If Duncan can stay healthy and productive, they will win it all.

Interesting pick. I definitely have to give you credit for going against the grain here. Personally, I don't think the Blazers are ready just yet. Adding Andre Miller definitely helps make them serious but they have the experience factor riding against them right now and that's what might separate them from SA/LA.

A good example of what i'm getting at is Denver in their series against LA. Often times the experience factor gets blown out of proportion, but occasionally there are a few cases where experience and/or any combination of intangibles seemingly sets apart one team from another. Denver vs. LA was one such case. Denver had the talent to match LA on paper. They just weren't ready to play on that level yet. I can see Portland falling into that same "trap".
