Steve hands down for sheer awe inspiring, Drexler was still pretty good his first year. But before francis, for me it was Otis Thorpe
Happens to all of em. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/csZDrjmq7io&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/csZDrjmq7io&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Horry didn't dunk much, but when he did, it usually timely and was impressive. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1fRgruTKWtg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1fRgruTKWtg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Yx8IW-Zo4RI&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Yx8IW-Zo4RI&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> And he gets style-points for this one: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/b7A93d8FJnY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/b7A93d8FJnY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Stevie is the only Rocket that got this old man off his ass hoppin & hollerin' and screaming for joy on a single play. Yeah, there has been others that made the Rockets great to watch, but Stevie...
Yeah. Steve Francis was easily the most enjoyable Rocket to watch dunking. But you have to check out James White in this video.

You guys have to check out James White #8 from the Rockets. He's a future star. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NdhRgZXNo5w&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NdhRgZXNo5w&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I can't find a Bill Willoughby video on line, but I'm sure he would rank as the top Rocket vertical reach of all time if you consider height plus vertical leap. He was 6'8" and had a 47 inch vertical leap.
I love Dream and his overall game, but I HAVE to give THIS one to Francis. For his size, he had amazing hops AND power.
Francis Horry - he'd do a crazy dunk every month like double pump reverse two hand alley oops. Horry and Cato were the 2 guys most likely to send it down when the ball was tossed near the rim. Landry Cato - a little Tyson Chandler-ish with the same alley oops dunks but I liked them. Elie - His build and height wouldnt indicate it but he'd surprise every once in a while with a hard 2 hand facial. McGrady then: Hakeem Thorpe - a dunking force, but too many 1 handers. Drexler Mobley Lew Lloyd had potential: Stomile Swift Kirk Snyder makes me happy when they dunk: Aaron Brooks Mutombo
Great post and my thoughts exactly when I read this thread. A Young Horry had some major dunking skills that looked great in traffic.
