This. This is the team he built and he is the one who is most responsible for what happens to this team. It is ridiculous to blame anyone else other than, maybe, Les Alexander too. But this is Morey's team and the buck stops with him.
With Lee having injuries now and Camby a "season ending injury" message away from not playing anymore, the Rockets failed to have a proper back-up SG signed in the case we make the playoffs. Smith is okay but hasn't been with the team in a long time so not having a proper Center in case of injury is also going to cost us. With that being said, the rest is all on the players and coaching staff. Adelman did way more with less last year and at least got players to try their best to get into the playoffs. I respect that team way more now than this one, starting with Dalembert's pathetic excuse of a big man I ever saw one all the way to Patterson's inability to rebound and have a decent hook shot. Could've used Jordan Hill's rebounding and at least he made a couple of those inside shots. That trade is starting to look worse by the day, with Camby out we could use Hill. That pick is going to be **** anyways so might as well have kept him. We are a soft team and 'Choke City' is too moderate to describe this team. Losing out on the playoffs like this is the worst in franchise history because there's no fight, all the games have been blowouts even if the scores do not reflect that and we simply give in. The last thing I thought we would be under McHale is softer and less of a hustling team than under Adelman. It is what it is, lose today and say bye-bye to the season.
can't blame the players. they overachieved. they're trying. can't blame the coaches. strategy was working up to 3 games ago. they're as puzzled and disheartened as we are. if there is anyone to blame, it's the FO who won't commit completely to going into the playoffs or getting a high draft pick. they keep saying we want to go to the playoffs, but when Lowry and KMart went down, they don't get other players who can contribute. Fortson? Boykins? Thomas/Simpson? You're joking, right? Always looking at the bottom line. they dearly need reinforcements now, but there's no one in sight. even JHill could have helped with rebounding and some offense. Well, the bottom's fallen out (or is falling). Who is the FA who will look kindly at our team? Maybe even the players we have (like Lowry) will want out.
