When opponents are having a layup drill against us and grabbing all the available rebounds, causing us to lose ~48-50 games, will McG be to blame? Also, if McG has a 20/6/6 average and plays hard, on said 32-34 win lotto team, will he, in your opinion, have led the team admirably?

If McGrady comes back and the Rockets struggle, then it will be his fault we fail.

If he comes back and the Rockets win, it will be because he "finally conformed to the system" or some other cliche.

Its really going to end up badly because the Rockets are not going to win a ring this year and most likely wont make it to the second round, so even if McGrady carries this lottery bound team into the playoffs, an inevitable first round flame out will again haunt him.

I can't think of any feasible scenario in which McGrady redeems himself this year through his performance on the court.

he'll redeem himself in this forum (atleast most of the yao fans) not by playing team ball or winning, but by publicaly praising yao's importantance and admitting Rockets sucks with the big fella...
sounds funny but its probably true lol

If he is a true leader, then he will get in the face of whoever isn't doing their jobs, whether it be rebounds or giving up easy layups, and try to eliminate it. I am hopeful that he can do this. And if he can, I don't see why the playoffs can't be reached. I don't think our defense will be this bad when the regular season begins. Adelman is trying to find the right combos for our team on the O and on the D ends of the floor. TMac has a great opportunity.

leaders don't have to do that. tim duncan rarely gets in the face of any player.

a leader just has to do his job, and play hard. if he does so, he'll motivate his teammates to do the same. tracy didn't do that last year. hopefully he will do it this year.

for us to have a great chance of making the playoffs, one of the things we need desperately is for a big man to surprise us. if we had deke and tmac returning, playoffs are a LOCK.

i still think we have a great chance at a 7/8 seed if tracy returns early (like early december) b/c we have a very tough start schedule-wise. and we're not looking good now on both ends.

Charmin Mcgrady is by far the softest player in the whole NBA. He is afraid of contact that is why he jacks up so many low % jumpers and is afraid to take it to the rack.

Yao on the other hand takes on the baddest men in the whole NBA night in and night out. Yao gets butchered doing it too. Often by 2 or 3 guys. In the Portland series he got hacked by 2 seven-footers even without the ball. And Yao gives as good as he gets.

Mcgrady is soft and injury prone

    Yao is injury prone

Mcgrady is lazy, a bad teammate, and a big mouth

Yao's work ethic is legendary, only thinks about the team, and blames no one but himself

Charmin Mcgrady needs to grow a pair

Yao led this team to the 2nd round last year with Mcgrady out pretty much the whole year.

Ariza and Artest are about the same. Artest was hurt a lot last season and for the most part played poorly in the Portland series except for game 6.

If Mcgrady is this great player then he can easily do what Yao did last year since he has the same supporting cast.

    Tell me you're kidding...

Artest != Ariza. As wild as Ron was offensively, he's 3x the threat Trevor is on that side of the court. McG going down just gave Ron more shot opportunities (along with Scola and Brooks).

And you do know that we have NO interior paint protector, do you not?? If McG does what Yao did last year it would be a superhuman, MVP level accomplishment. Let me say this again:

This team, as presently constructed, is a 32-34 win team. WE HAVE NO DEFENSE IN THE PAINT.

There's nothing tough about Tracy, He plays through injuries yet he still avoids contact as much as possible, Nothing tough about that, just pure stupidity.

That is a nightmare scenario if I've ever heard one. There you have him taking a young player(s) minutes and potentially costing the team a higher draft pick, while playing McGrady ball (i.e. walk it up and hold it).

What good can come from "McG" playing for this team this year? I can't think of any.

Uh I doubt it............ T-Mac has always been afraid of contact. There's a reason why his real favorite sport is baseball.

the 7-6 softie your referring does not lead thou
he would lead a team into the lottery every year if it wasn't for tmac or artest last year
he follows, works hard, gets pushed around, works harder, but does not lead.
