He speaks several languages actually and besides Yao is arguably one of the most popular NBA'ers over there.That's some good buisness IQ and if you listen to his interviews and conversations he's not covering up for himslef when he's not talking like a thug. ( yes even over Lebron )
Being the best basketball player in the world makes him marketable, not his business sense. Also, where in Europe would he learn to talk like a "thug?"
I'll give him French, since it's a language of Zaire/Congo, but I'm betting that his Spanish and Portuguese probably make his English sound good.
Jason Kidd, at this point he isn't a very talented guy (especially compared to other PGs like Nash or Paul) but he still puts up good numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually put the idea to trade for him in Mark Cuban's head.
