Might be Stephon Marbury. http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/knicksblog/marbury_wants_to_own_team_in_china_IOjTIWn08vUHHqQVpgYQoK
While it's great that Kobe Bryant can speak multiple languages, it doesn't really prove that he's that smart. He spent a number of years in his youth in Europe. Most people in Europe are at least bilingual, and a lot of them are still dumb.
LOL. Just saw this. Ronny, that's funny. You clearly don't get how power works in this world. The fact that you think that testosterone is related in any way to intelligence or that it'll help you in really being 'the man' reveals how far removed from power you are. That type of logic might work if you want to climb the career ladder at gym, not in the real world. LBJ, a guy with a bit of testosterone, wants to be the first ballplayer to be a billionaire. Guess what? All the majority owners are already billionaires who probably have a lot less testosterone than LBJ or Kobe. The fact that 60% of NBA players go broke after retiring should tell you a little something about the relationship between testosterone and IQ. But here're a few examples from the league. What do Joe Lacob, Paul Allen, and Mark Cuban have in common? They all sat in front of computers and became really rich and powerful and then decided to buy NBA teams like it was a fantasy basketball game just for fun. And Lacob has a background in biostatistics, which is the same as social science and is what Morey uses to make decisions. Meanwhile all these players in the L who probably have a bit more testosterone then those three fight tooth and nail for a contract to get paid by the likes of these owners. A contract that, even for a hall of fame player getting $30mil a year at their peak, is chump change for any of the aforementioned nerds. Magic is the most successful at parlaying his money as a player into wealth on the order of the other owners and he's only now attempting to become a majority owner.
He knows 3 languages because he grew up in Italy. It's not because he was some kind of brilliant scholar. That is common for any European. Being a hard worker in a sport does not make you intelligent, it makes you athletic and a hard worker. And "profound interviews"?!?!?! lol
Very good! Ronny, are you reading this? What do you think? I'm not sure if a list of 100 wealthiest people in the world has any athlete in it.
I think in your zest to justify the painful childhood experiences you went through you totally forgot what testosterone is. Most of the males and females running Fortune 500 companies have a lot of it. Just because you like processing data and working with computers doesn't mean you're automatically a timid, lethargic, indecisive, passive aggressive kind of guy. The pure comedy here is that most posters in this thread identify with Jeremy Lin, or he fits the stereotype of the studious Asian, so he automatically becomes the smartest player in the NBA. Controlled variables doing social science research... lawl I do that **** for fun mayn. I kill people in mah sleep. You wanna **** with me.
You're the one who conflated testosterone and IQ. Those are completely different concepts. The original question was who is the smartest NBA player. The answer you gave was that Kobe is the smartest due to his testosterone. That's why I corrected you. The fact that you think they are the same suggests you probably don't need much IQ in your line of work, however rewarding your job may be. Actually, as I said in the beginning, there are many types of intelligence, but what I'm talking about is book smarts. It has nothing to do with whether he's Asian. It's that his credentials obviously show that he is pretty book smart, especially for an NBA player. Or do you really think that Kobe is more book smart than Lin, comparing Kobe as someone who did not go to college vs. Lin who went to Harvard on his academic merits? If you do, then I can't help you, kid. That's not how the world works. Does Kobe have more bball iq than Lin? Yeah, probably. Listen kid, this has been fun. Good luck with using your testosterone and 'risk-taking' and killer instinct to overcome your intellectual handicaps for whatever you want to do. I'll be rooting for you. But at least work on your reading comprehension...it might be useful. Just a little advice for you.
KOBE???? Are you f***ing kidding me? The high school grad? The rapist? Kobe?????????? In the words of John McEnroe, you CANNOT be serious.
Shaq is smart because he wants to do a PhD? What kind of logic is that? I learned all I needed to know about Shaq's intelligence from Katt Williams. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ASALoD3OO0
I think Kobe is smart, compared to most NBA players. Yes, he dropped out of high school, but that was because he had a much brighter future in the NBA than going to college. I didn't know there are that many players smarter than him. I'm a little outdated. Shaq going for the PhD is smart to me because most people cannot pursue it or will not pursue it. Imagine a former player who has a doctorate in something. That's quite impressive. My original question was, "who is the smartest NBA player?" So compared if you compare just NBA players, I think the guys I listed are pretty smart. Maybe not as smart as guys like Battier or Lin, but I was close.
I dont think anyone listed Lin as smart because he is asian. They listed Lin because he graduated in economics from Harvard. Also people listing GPAs should also list the major cuz a 3.0 in engineering is > than a 4.0 in art.
