well shaq is the only player in the NBA with a MBA.

even if its from LSU you either need to smart or at least work hard academically to get that. Its not like undergrad where the university would look the other way to make sure he passes his classes. LSU probably ensured that Shaq had it easier than other MBA candidates but he probably still had to put his work in

if i remember right he graduated early and had a really high GPA...because of his commitments to the basketball team he had to basically teach himself calculus on the road and wasnt able to attend many (if any) lectures and he still got an A in the class.

A quick Google search says Kobe's SAT was 1080. Pretty bad if you ask me.

Ron Artest. The guy got a job at Best Buy after his rookie year so he could get a discount on the electronics he bought for his boys from Queens Bridge. Not only that, but he put the Chicago Bulls as a reference.

Who is Jeremy Lin? I read somewhere that said Kobe was a pretty smart high school kid. He would have excelled in college if he chose to.

He got the degree from "University of Phoenix", any one can get a Ph.d from there.

Jeremy Lin probably did better than this. But Shaq mentioned Kobe had the highest SAT score in the people he knew.

Getting an MBA is not particularly academically challenging and even the highest ranked ones HBS, Kellogg, Wharton, Sloan (MIT) are not academically rigorous. B-school is better characterized as a chance to drink, network, and relive frat-life. The only somewhat rigorous track in B-school is finance, which is what the nerdier guys do. If I'm not mistaken, Morey did some finance at Sloan. The other tracks are really easy. If that's what the top B-schools are like, I can't imagine getting an MBA from LSU is very difficult.

This sounds impressive for a basketball player, but it doesn't sound hard for a college student at harvard. I've never been to harvard, but I have a stats minor.

No, it's not that easy from LSU. But "U of Phoenix“ is one of those online schools. You pretty much pay the money and you'll get the degree.

UCONN didn't provide tutors!? I find that hard to believe. Okafor did graduate in 3 years too.

    Kobe

He recruits the best kobe-stoppers/defenders in the league to his team

    -- Artest
    -- Matt Barnes
-- Attempted to recruit Raja Bell
-- ^^ all of the above in a single off-season

    Clever chap!
