Whose the rockets all star? Who do think would most likely be an all star this season? Battier Brooks Scola Ariza McGrady
The most realistic option is no one since Aaron is blocked by a number of franchise MVP-candidate point guards and McGrady might return too late to make a significant push for a reserve slot. All of this is taking into account that he doesn't get voted in (he better not). Scola has an outside shot if he really emerges but I expect him to be improved but he will still be a steady, consistent role player and not an all star.
Pete Chilcutt: Brings Intensity, Bball IQ, helps the chemistry. Great Perimeter Shooter who can spread the floor. Always ready to play, never had his warm up pants just the jacket. Great Accuracy on his high fives. Chilly Pete Chilcutt your 2009-2010 All-Star
None. Deron Williams hasn't even been an All-Star yet. Brooks has no chance. Scola has at least a few PFs that will almost certainly go ahead of him (Duncan, Dirk, Gasol, Amare, etc...). Then there are guys like Boozer, West, Aldridge, etc... he'll also have to compete with. Ariza has to get past Carmelo, Durant, Artest and Gay just to name a few. Sadly, McGrady probably has the best shot because of his name if he can stay on the court. I don't see that happening though.
If Scola can bump himself up to a 20/10 guy, which is possible, he would have the best shot. That said, he would still be a long shot even with 20/10. McGrady will come back too late. Brooks has Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, and more to compete with. Battier will never be an All-Star because, well, he's not All-Star caliber stats-wise. Contribution-wise, perhaps, but I don't really think so either, and no-stats plays will not win fan votes anyway. Ariza won't grow THAT much to make the All-Star team. Check back in a few years.
David Andersen.... Somewhat slim pickins' at the 5 spot in the WC. Duncan I think still goes as PF as does Amare. The logical pick would be Jefferson, but I'm not sure how much of a household name he is outside the U.S.(hell, outside Minnesota for that matter.) The reason I say that is because the Chinese vote (aka. Silent Majority) may not be familiar with Jefferson or anyone on the C selection. If the Chinese still love the Rox, then they will vote in DA. Whether he deserves it or not is irrelevant, I just think that he has the best chance. Too much quality and depth at all other slots.
Dakota has about as good a chance as anyone on this team not named Tracy and even the latter's chances are at a very generous "if hell freezes over."
