    Pat Riley, hands down.

He has to hate coaching a team with that little talent. If Pat Riley coached the Rock's I bet Steve, Mooch, and Cat would all of a sudden look more coachable.

Damn, i've been dreaming i'd wake up with Pat Riley as the coach all season long. It's so obvious to me why can't it just happen.

It would be interesting to see the Rocks pick up Super Mario as an assistant. Maybe he could find ways to encourage people to put in more effort.

Maybe Clyde can help this team with the fast break.

Because Riley is not only the coach of the Heat, he is also that organizations Vice President. Les Alexander would under no circumstances pay Riley what Riley wants in terms of salary.

If I recall correctly, Phil Jackson started at $10m/year in LA. Les is on record as not wanting to pay the $1 for $1 Luxury Tax if the (estimated) current salary of $49m rises above (estimated) $54m LT level. IMHO, if they won't pay the LT to re-sign Posey, they surely won't pay someone like Riley who will ask for Phil Jackson money.

All NBA coaches, former or current are good candidates. Musselman, Nelson, Van Gundy, Fratello, Larry Brown, Riley, Hubie Brown.
Some of the college coaches are also ok.

But why must you think that any former NBA players can become coach?
I love these guys as players, Jabbar, Clyde, Walton, Moses, Murphy, Mario but most have little or no experience whatsoever.

Take Jabbar as an example, he himself says he needs to learn. He's served as ass coach for the Clippers, then with the US Basketball League and now on to college. It will take several yrs before he can even think about applying for a NBA coaching job.
Clyde did not do very well at UH.
    Murphy coached FT shooting.
The others have had no experience even at a lower level.
Kenny could not even run a play (much less a team) succesfully as a PG. He was not a very gutsy nor smart player. How can he even begin to teach anybody anything?

If there is a change, please find the 'next' Doc Rivers or Rick Carlisle. Or even Nate McMillan.

If there is a change, I expect JVG to be at the top of possibles along with Paul Silas.

What jobs will be open? Atlanta and Milwaukee? Clips and Raps. Charlotte and possibly New Orleans. Knicks, Nets, Wiz?

The Association may be looking at recycling or trying out lots and lots of new geniuses.
