Though my member number doesn't accurately reflect how long I've been lurking around here (Since 96) I still am one of the early members. While I don't post much anymore (mainly because the quality of conversation has diminished vastly over the years) I still patrol the boards on a daily basis. As to whether I am the oldest member with the least amount of posts, I doubt it, although I could be in the running. -Turbo
Oops. With the Rox game and the election occuring simultaneoulsy, I forgot that I actually registered back in '96. I remember posting about where to best purchase a Rudy T tie. good times, good times...
Oldest member with the least posts? What is this a trick question? That's like asking guys to line up alphabetically by their height.
While I'm not one of the 1996 Originals, I've been here since 1997, so I'm darn close. I think my member number might actually be quite a bit lower, but I waited a few days to re-register after the switch from ClutchCity.com to Clutchcity.net, with probably around 500 or so posts that didn't carry over in the switch. [/tooting-my-own-horn] I'm still amazed at how much this site has grown, but not necessarily with the recognition it has received: Just goes to show what one loyal fan can do with bringing so many loyal fans together. Hell, just think about the Smeggy trip to Houston, and all the boozing, BBQ-ing, and all of us going to the game and what-not. Not to mention all the folks, i.e Manny Ramirez, who flew in to meet Smeggy and everyone else. And of course Smeggy visit #2 and all of the other various get-togethers.... This site rules.
Ive been here since '96, I remember looking for a Rockets website my freshman year at UT because I just moved away from Houston and the world champion Rockets. Using dial up connection at Jester... i stumbled on this site and have been here ever since. didnt register until 99.
I guess this account isn't that old, but I've been around (and not posted much) since probably '97 or '98... Wish I could remember my old account info...
I don't have as many posts as I should for how long I've been here. Especially considering how much time that I actually spend on the board.
Im an original (Although I didnt realise it at the time!) and I have a low post count. Funny because Im here every day reading about the latest team news....I dont even visit other sports sites for Rockets news. As for my low post count...I dont know. I guess when I have an opinion and someone else has already expressed it.....I dont feel the need to post. A bit of trivia: One day I got fired up the website and there was a question "Should we trade Hakeem Olajuwon?". As a diehard Rockets fan and with the Dream being the reason I even began to follow basketball at all.....I decided to have my say. I voted THOUSANDS of times. This was when things on the net like polls were pretty new and they didnt have restrictions. Anyway the poll was deleted....but I did confess to my actions a couple of years ago to Clutch and he was cool about it. Back then...the net was fairly different.
I would think I am in the running. I posted in the GARM and only recently came to this side. But the lack of logic in teh GARM limited my posting greatly.
I'm guessing Feb. 99 is as old as it gets.... but I didn't start posting till the last two years, when I got a laptop that's constantly in front of me. I got here in 96, when I was just curious if every web address had been taken up by something... I would type things like Hakeem.com, Turbo.com, thesummit.com.... and alas, when I typed clutchcity.com... you know the rest.
The real answer: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=4 In case anyone cares.
Haha, the owner of clutchcity.com. I'd almost forgotten that site. Clutch took the money and ran, and we all moved over to .net. I'm shocked that that guy doesn't come around here anymore. Anyway, looks like this has turned into a post-count farm thread for lurkers. Keep it up guys!
i followed this site from the early days....did'nt register until later on....but 1999 like most the people. with less than 100 posts
I'm going to de-lurk for a moment and say the exact same applies to me (though I joined slightly later).
Until someone else pointed it was DREAM, I thought sabirk was, since he answered my HDTV question: http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84512 and I even credited him with coming out of LURK-tirement [sounds like 'retirement']
