This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this board. I understand frustration - but Morey inherited two constantly injured superstars. It isn't his fault that Yao and McGrady never stayed healthy. If we had a season or two of both of them remaining healthy who knows what we would have accomplished. Now most of us would agree that the Yao era has failed, but we have desirable veterans and expiring contracts to trade and numerous young prospects (including the leagues most improved player last year), the right to swap picks with the Knicks this year, the right to swap second round picks with the Clippers this year, and the Knicks #1 pick outright next year. We already have a head start in the rebuilding process. And despite what all of you think about the value of Shane Battier, I promise you teams like the Heat, the Magic, the Celtics, the Spurs, the Thunder and any other team that plans to face an elite swing man in the playoffs (and will have a relatively late 1st round pick) would be glad to send us their pick for Battier based on reputation alone. That's without even getting into the value of a guy like Luis Scola or Kevin Martin to a team trying to contend. I believe we're going to have to rebuild because the Yao era didn't work out. But I'm really grateful that Daryl Morey has made the moves necessary to give us a gigantic head start on that rebuilding process.
How can you knock on Chuck? He's one of the only players on this team that isn't useless on defense AND offense.
