It was JAG, Behad is still around.

    I vote
#1 heypartner - the only one besides me that thinks Steve Francis at the two will look almost exactly like Steve Francis at the one.

#2 LHutz - Reading an LHutz post, even the new fake LHutz, never fails to get at least a chuckle out of me.

#3 Trader_Jorge - Although partially influenced by his conservative leanings, it is the style of his posts that I really enjoy. CASE CLOSED

    Honorable Mentions
Manny Ramirez - that Red Sux fan :p
RockHEAD - best use of graphics
B Bob - second best use of graphics, and well supported with humorous commentary
verse, Smeggy, and all of the other Mobley fans - for obvious reasons
Hydra - I sure wish that guy would post more ;)
Rocketman95 - the only other guy here who knows where Aptos is
giddyup, johnheath, and some of the other vocal conservatives - gotta balance out the back slapping cadre
    Mrs. JB - very funny
ROckets03 - there are too many Yankee hatas around here
The Cat - sure he made some unreasonble claims (Jason Collier?), but I loved to read 'em
I am probably forgetting a lot, but isn't that the way of things

I really enjoy this BBS, and there are many wonderful posters that make it the unusual community it has become. I wouldn't have minded being without all the panic posters, Ming first or haters we added this year, but I guess that goes with the territory of this BBS getting so big, and the international community which added so much good flavor this year.

I wish Will wasn't part of the Clutch staff, so I could vote for him, since he turns a phrase better than anyone, and If thacabbage would have made more than 3 posts this last year, I'd have voted for him, since he says so often what I'm already thinking, just better. (Dude, ya' gotta post MORE!) HeyPartner is fun to read, except when he get's too dogmatic, and even though I often disagree with him, I appreciate that he thinks seriously about what he writes, and am amazed at the sheer volume of ponderous posts he makes. Man, where do you find the time? AnotherBrother established his comedic credentials, and SmeggySmeg ought to get some kind of award for coolest name and wierdest downunder wit. Aelliott ought to be hired out as a consultant on the CBA and anything NBA contract related. Even the fans from other teams such as Denver, Chicago, Portland, Golden State, San Antonio, and Memphis added a spicy element. Who can forget the "kiss my ass" post by BlazerGal, and the "I love sheep" from roydelton, and razzing the MemphisX after his boasting before the game. Remember when Cato's mom came in here to defend her son, when we were all dogging him? Obviously, the big change for us came from the international posters, some of whom were wonderful, giving us an inside perspective on Ming and an incredible culture, others who were irritating, when they were only concerned with Ming's success, which was disrespectful, coming to a Rocket fan's BBS. We also got so much public exposure, due to Ming, which brought in a lot of bipolar type fans, either hating or worshipping, neither in touch with reality. And, even though TroyBaros was so brash and irritating, what he wrote riveted us, quite probably included truth, although perhaps twisted, and made things interesting. And, it was great to have a few posters with new "insider info", such as Rocket!!! (even though none of it came to fruition), Rocket Rich NYC, and BagoBoy to gain additional perspectives. And, can you believe, that Tim, the Rocket's marketing director is a poster this year? Very cool. You've got to wonder if any players are posters. But, when all is said and done, I'd have to vote this way:

    1. <b> Oeilpere/Popeye:</b> Too bad he was sick. We missed his posts this year. He has always been the king of insider info (except maybe Clutch), and when he does post, we all read, and hope he posts again and again and again. We can't get enough of him, can we? (well, maybe the tantrum time, when he said he'd never come back ... but, we all knew he would, and hoped he'd get over it ... thank God he did) He also seems to have an excellent understanding of the game and the Rockets. Please come out of hiding. We need info! (So, about KG ... lol)
    2. <b> Wind and Sea:</b> She was the biggest breath of fresh air this year. Maybe it was because she was first with inside info on Ming and things Chinese, but I think it was because she was so classy, and showed our team respect, becoming a Rocket's fan because she loved Ming, not a Ming fan, who only was excited about the Rockets, as long as Ming did well. There were a lot of great international posters, such as heech, Shanghai Shark, Fegwu, Feishen, olliez, and many others, but WindandSea was tops.
    3. <b>Rocket Rich NYC:</b> On a few occaisions, he has provided some very interesting takes from the NYC club scene where the players hang out, which has been invaluable as far as some of what is happening behind the scenes. His accounts of the games at the Garden have been great, as well. I look forward to all his posts, now.
    4. <b> Doc Rocket:</b> (honorable mention) Anytime he posts, whether its for insider news or a riddle, we are mesmerized, and keep checking back to see if he's posted again, for days. We read his posts over and over to somehow squeeze something more. (I HAD Doc at #1, which is where I feel he belongs, since I don't think senior is a reflection of post counts. Many haven't posted as often this year, including myself, since there has been a flood of panic and reactionary posting, which is hard to weigh in on.)
      [/list=1]

There are way too many posters to mention who were fun to read, but I wish some guys would post more, such as thacabbage, Clutch, Jeff, Will, Bryan Kagy, Batman Jones, Manny Ramirez, NIKEstrad, cbrownfanclub, Macbeth, ZRB (now that he's chilled), AntiSonic, TheFreak (I actually agree with some of your stuff now), T-2 (great off-season summary), Cabezon, Behad, Rocket Rich NYC, rockHEAD, Sir Jackie Chiles, NJRocket, GATER, ZRB, Almu, Juan Valdez, Nolen, DaDakota (even if you did turn negative the second half), MManal, Old School, BobFinn*, Dallas Rocket, The Cat, tod the bod (1 post is WAY too few), Hottoddie (but could you make those trades more realistic?) :), and many more I can't remember at the moment ...

... and wouldn't it be great if Doc Rocket, Oeilpere, Rocket!!! came back and told us what really happened on a lot of the deals they told us about, after the fact ... and TroyBaros ... now that would be an interesting thread.

(I edited the post - isn't THAT nice - to reflect SYS's rules regarding Doc Rocket, although I still think he should be #1)

    1. Sherlock sums up most of what I'd say on this topic, which probably makes many mentioned a bit uncomfortable with praise unasked for, although I think it serves to give a lot of the newcomers who weren't lurking for years (as I did) before they joined a clue to many of the people that make the site great... although too many scarcely post anymore and get lost at times when they do, what with all the Yao mania. I hope they remember that their quality is needed now more than ever and crank up the post count.

I wanted to add a guy who's made me laugh out loud more than any other since he joined. B-Bob. And I wish LHutz were back... geez, what a riot!

And hell yes, what was the story with the insider scoops last year?? Shouldn't we get some of them cleared up, before we have all of THIS offseason's stuff rattling our brains? It's started already. Come clean!

(I'm also sure I've forgotten people... one of the problems with this kind of thread)

Its almost one day since I started this thread and wow, great to see a number of warm responses. I especially enjoy those who stated the reasons for voting. I can really feel a strong sense of cohesiveness between our members. keep up the good work guys!

Below is the table of the results uptil now. It is probably too early to determine who the winner is, so I planning to run it for another week for the final result. What do you guys think?

By the way, I noticed a number of posters have included non-senior members such as Jeff or Doc Rocket in their voting, don't get me wrong, they certain are very respectable posters in our forum, but I also believe, as tshi6575 already stated, Clutch and Clutch Crew members such as Jeff, DoD should deserve the ultimate respect for maintaining such a wonderful forum and if we include them in the voting, it is likely that they will just ended up as the top three without a doubt. I also noticed that some very respectable members such as Tim and Doc Rocket have not yet achieved the "senior" status, I understand that the criteria of being a senior member (400 or more posts) may not be the most suitable way to judge a member's contribution to the forum, but for now I'll just stick to the system as it is.

As a result, I omitted those non-senior member votes but still count the eligible ones i.e. a #2(3pt) vote will move up become #1(5pt) and #2 if the original #1 is not valid. Also, a number of voters didn't state their #2 and #3 pick so I'll just give the only pick #1(5pts). Fair enough?

The board was too diluted this year. It is at a point in quality vs. quantity that I think many quality posts/posters have turned away.

Oops, sorry about the blank space between the table and the text... I don't know what happened, probably something with the wrong use of html codes.

    You've done the HTML with carriage returns in. The BBS interpretes each of these as a &lt;br /&gt;

If you edit the HTML into one long line, the gap will go away.

    Bailey,
Thanks for the advice. I created, copy & paste the table using Dreamweaver and I must say I'm not very good at the html codes. I tried to fixup but had no luck, so I probably have to leave it at that. Sorry about the inconvenience.

    tshi6575,
Sorry I made a mistake. BenCollinsMavs is not a senior member thus should not be included on the list. I'll try to fix it up now.

Bailey, I am honored, and extremly humbled to be mentioned in the same breath as other legednary clutchcity.net bbs members.

I would like to thank Clutch for making this site. The crew for maintaining it, and the tens of thousands of people who come to this site to say, maan that Kam cat. He's a funny poster.

Thank you and send our troops home, and some petroleum so we can convert it to gas so I don't have to pay so damn much on gas.
