wait a minute.. didn't hakeem play his final nba season in toronto??? GASP! then why in the world would you keep insisting on bringing up these irrelevant moments of him in a rockets uni???
Last I heard he didn't change his nickname to LE REVE, but kept it as THE DREAM No one uses this excuse "If we had Dream when he was in Toronto.." or this one "Dream was so unstoppable that year we lost to the Lakers in the first round!"
well going back to your original question, i don't think that anybody here really loves the tmac playing for Orlando more than tmac, the Houston Rocket... of course we are fans of him now bc he is a Houston Rocket, but that doesn't mean we can't bring up what he accomplished in his past, because his resume is still a relevant attribute to tmac himself and of course no one uses the excuse "if we had the Dream when he was in Toronto" ...but I'M PRETTY CERTAIN THAT PEOPLE (in Toronto) USED TO SAY.."if only we had the Dream when he was playing for Houston" ..and surely even you couldn't fault them for saying that one
Someone please put an end to this madness! I feel worse and worse for you every time I see a post on here. I think of all the things you missed while posting on this thread over 100 times and I almost feel bad for you. If the thread had been titled "What do you expect from the Rockets this season?(or just about any other random question)" I could maybe understand the 100+ posts....but for a thread titled "Who is the Dream?"...not so much.
Some people here are obsessed with his Orlando days, its their crutch. When we got Drexler and Barkley, we all know that they had better stats when they were the main option on their teams. We never really were obsessed with their prior careers even though we know they were spectacular. The logic of the Tmac in Orlando makes no sense except the comfort in knowing he was a great scorer. Guess what? he had to be. Scorer and Winner doesn't necessarily come hand in hand. To me, Tmac last year as the leader when Yao went down was more impressive than ANYTHING he did in Orlando. Its the maturity, leadership, and confidence in teammates that's more important. We all know he can score, if he went back to jacking it up like he did in Orlando, we still lose in the first round.
I didn't miss anything. They had Ghostbusters II on HDNet Movies, Its got a great cameo appearance by Bobby Brown, plus one of the best soundtrack songs of all time "On Our Own" <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eomeW_Sm8Nk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eomeW_Sm8Nk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
WTF are you talking about? Ghostbusters 2 was a classic. what you don't like Bobby Brown? What are you are a Johnny Gill fan?
YAO is deserving of the respect, fool. YAO made the city of Houston what it is today. YAO is in the hearts and DREAMS of everyone. That's because YAO is DREAM!!! =D =D =D
Did you move here with Yao or what? How did Yao make the city of Houston what it is today? By winning championships? winning an MVP? Defensive player of the yr? What Yao has done so far is put China on the map!
