historically speaking, the fact that leinart is white and young is black puts the odds in leinarts favor.

It depends really. He made a good choice returning for his senior season. His delivery is way too low and ackward for the pro game. If he keeps it that way half his passes will get batted down. He aslo tends to float the ball instead of zip it in and his touch on deep and timing routes need a lot of work. This could all change by next year. He has all the physical tools and has improved every season. However, next season is a major hurdle in whether or not i think he can be a good pro QB. There's no question he can be a pro QB, but do you want him to be a good one, one that fizzles out after three years or an elite receiver? In saying this I mean if he doesn't change the things i mentioned above. Like I said in the other thread, if I'm drafting him this year, he's a receiver to me or a 3 year project that may or may not pan out as a QB. With all his talent, he's an impact receiver quicker.

Please let's not bring race into this. We already have enough going on here without that.

To me the throwing motion isn't an issue, floating some passes is. the reason I don't think the throwing motion is an issue because his natural motion gives him a quick realease. So while the ball may come out low, defenders don't really have time to put their hands up to knock the ball down.

It's too low for my liking but I do agree about the quick release. The problem is the pro game is just so much faster. Defenders get their hands up a lot more now with all the rule changes. I don't know why he tends to float passes so much either. He'll have a receiver wide open and and float the ball to him. I honestly thin his release might be one of the reasons why his passes sail on him. The trajectory when the ball comes off his hand is set up naturally to float.

The poll topic is contradictory, so I'm not sure how we should be voting. imo, the person who is better at quarterback right now is not the person with the stronger future. And I'm not alone in that line of thinking.

If you want to argue the best player in college football this year, ask "who is better" and we'll respond. If you want to argue who has the best future, ask "who has the stronger future" and we'll respond. You can't combine the two (as you have) because the answers aren't necessarily the same.

Don't have a dog in this fight, but quoting someone twice in your sig in order to get them banned, instead of just reporting the post, is pretty lame.

"Mommy, jimmy called me a poopee head!!!"

I was thinking the same thing but didn't respond. I would take Carson Palmer over Vick in a heartbeat.

That's why these topics are so up in the air. In Atlanta's offense, you'd take Vick but in Cincy's offense you'd definitely want Palmer. In terms of who's the better QB, it's not even close in Palmer's favor.

If I was sad enough to want someone banned from a message board for a few curse words I wouldn't report them. I'd just log out, never return and keep looking for the end of the internets. Pretty simple solution really.

I do not want dude gone. I just wanted to poke fun with a double shot sig. Is that so wrong, Dad?

    Dude, what is your problem?

My post wasn't about college football or your Longhorns.. I don't even care that the dude's handle is "longhornfan" (I actually thought it was "longtimefan") so why the hostility?

And if you're going to post the same one liner every time I post in a thread about college football, you might as well save some time and put it in your sig.

I don't really see why you'd quote someone twice, with both bannable quotes, unless you were advertising to the moderators to get him banned.

If you're doing it in jest, more power to you, my mistake. But also, I don't think the moderators appreciate people running around with "F**k" in their sigs.. no matter who said it.

    Done in jest. Check.

I changed the sig a bit. It didn't look as beautiful on my large screen here at work, either. People and their online potty mouths. Sheesh!

I mean, golly Beav...I think Wally really gave me the business!

Various mock drafts show Lienhert going 1 (NO), 1, 2 (Arizona), 3 (Arizona), 2 (Tenn), 3 (Tenn), 2 (Tenn), 3 (Tenn), 1 (Tenn)

    Vince Young going: 4 (Arizona), 8, 11 (Balt), 11 (Balt), 12(Miami), 7 (Miami), 13 (Detroit)

Many sites are dropping Vince since he doesn't appear to be coming out. BTW, the sites that have Reggie show him as 3-4 rounder.

I think you have us confused with the Poo-Flinging aggie cavalry, 2nd division.

I can see Young in Tennessee's system, Miami's and Baltimore's. No way you put him in with Arizona, , NO, or Detroit. Those teams would all be insane not to take Leinart.
