Robinson was pretty f'ing good. I remember watching him put up like 70 points once. But this is two seperate positions we are talking about here, I don't see how it is relevant.
He was pretty f'ing good. But I wouldn't say he was better than Duncan. Not imo.. they're easily comparable. I don't think b/c one is labeled a PF and one a C you can't compare them. They had similar games in a lot of ways. Tell me what made Robinson a C what made Duncan a PF, and then I'll concede that you can't compare them because of that. I really replied because you brought up the 70 point game. Come on.. they fed him the ball every play to get him the scoring title (last day of the regular season) against a team that didn't care (yeah, the damn Clips who were out of the playoffs and didn't care)
Absolutely - but teams don't peak at the same time. The Jazz peaked when the 2nd set of Bulls peaked. In those years, the Jazz did, unfortunately, beat us. Everyone can't win a championship in the same year, and many great players only have a short window. The Rockets only peaked for 2 years. If we had to play Seattle those years, we may never have won a title either - would that mean Olajuwon wasn't great? Or would it have meant that we just ran into a better team?
Tim Duncan, you should added Charles Barkley in the poll but even then Duncan would win a by mile. Tim Duncan was the only one didn't fold in the playoffs, had dominant stats and won. What can't you say about the man? At this point of his career, he really has nothing to play for.
if you go back and watch malone play during his peak, he was a scorer and aggressive. he also had great passes from stockton almost everytime. but i voted for duncan.
I would take charles over karl. He couldn't play d, but in his prime he could do it all: score, rebound, handle the ball.
Hope that was sarcasm. Half of the people on this board says he rode Ray Allen and Paul Pierce's coattail to a title last year.
lol ya. When they are all 3 on separate teams, they were not very successful. But i would say KG if more important to the Celtics than Ray or Pierce.
In my opinion, He's at least Top 5 in terms of power forwards of all-time. No way is he better than Tim Duncan though at all. Kevin Garnett is one of the best 2nd fiddle players to ever play the game. His unselfishness was/is makes him so great and a HOF worthy player. He's just too unselfish and versatile. My Top 5 Power-Forwards of all-time list 1. Duncan 2. The Mailman 3. Sir Charles 4. McHale/KG 5. KG/McHale It's kind of hard for me to determine who's better McHale or KG. I think it might be McHale, but KG can surpass him in a few years anyways.
Out of those two, I pick Malone...as much as I hate him. He was a beast. I'll always consider Duncan a center playing out of position, too. I think Barkley deserves some consideration. If he had the work ethic of Malone, he would have been the best PF of all time with no argument.
No, Dream was a pure center and he would be insulted if you even suggested he was anything but a pure center. For the life of me I don't understand this ridiculous desire some people have to make Dream a 4. Duncan is a no-fit because he plays like a 5 on offense and like a scared little bunny on defense, never wanting to guard the opposing team's best big man. Dream relished the defensive side of basketball.
