Anthony Davis easily. He's going to anchor their defense. And he will be all over the offensive boards. Rose/Kyrie/Harden split the playamking and scoring duties.
The game tonight vs Brazil looked more like the Rose and Davis show. Harden makes a good sixth man though when Rose and Davis get rest.
Curry and Harden are both about even. I'll probably give the nod to Curry though as a better player. To answer the thread question though, the answer is Anthony Davis, IMO. I can't give a proper answer for Rose though. Seemed like he was trying to make the crowd happy. Missed up a couple times. He's still probably a top 5 player though going coast to coast. Amazing speed and handle.
The only way Harden can be the best player on a team is if the coach allows him to handle to ball and run mostly iso plays. He doesn't move very well without the ball on offense and his defense is a huge liability. The only way I see coach K going to the "clear out for Harden" offense is if Davis, Rose, Thompson and Curry all get injured. That said, I think spending a summer with coach K potentially can help Harden improve his ability to move and rotate without the ball.
Realgm thinks davis by a huge margin. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1341378&sid=5fee0b032d311966514386e6784bf42f
Of the 8 (of 9) eligible all nba front court players, not one is on this team Of the 4 (of 6) eligible guards, 3 are on this team. To say it has a little front court depth issue would be a pretty big understatement, but the question was about the best player, not the most important. If all the centers and power forwards turned up, but none of the guards, would you say if only John Wall turned up that he was the best? of course not, but he might be the most important.
Davis goes from the 12th man to be arguably the best and certainly the most important player for team USA in just 2 years. Impressive!!
Well, it's pretty impressive that he made the team in 2012, without any prior professional experience. He wasn't even officially a rookie yet.
Anthony Davis could not get the Pelicans into the play-offs last season with a supporting cast that was far superior to what James harden had the year before with the Rockets. As good as Davis is, the answer is James Harden by a landslide.
Are u kidding me? It was only his 2nd year and he had no Jrue Holiday or Ryan Andersen majority of the year. Harden had much better teammates 2 years ago. How was Davis' supporting cast better? It wasn't even close. If you do a re-draft today with all the players... All 30 GM's pecking order goes Lebron, Durant then Davis. I'll say 20 years from now Davis will be in the debate for 2nd best PF of ALL TIME. Davis a rare talent and I'm surprised there are people that don't realize how special he is.
Harden for all the weird hate he gets is still an elite offensive player. people dont get how gifted he is
It's Harden, fairly easily. Davis may be better eventually, but he's really a subpar defensive player right now. If he improves his defensive awareness and continues to get stronger he could be an elite player, but not yet. Rose has to stay healthy, until then he's a non-factor in discussions like this.
depends - do we count that Davis has already got a bit of the dreaded "when healthy" qualifier at age ?21
