This was a hard one, nearly a tie but....

    1. Lin - is the type of player that's makes everyone play better around him. He is the key to our run & gun offense he gets the fast breaks started more than anyone on our roster. This means he can carry the team to a certain degree if harden went down. He has out the largest amount of points in a single game vs parsons & asik.

    2. Parsons - plays off the ball so well. He knows where to be at all time. A very smart and efficient player. On fast breaks he's the man you can count on to be running right there with you and know how to finish if you chose to pass him the ball. Hope we never let parsons go due to this contract situation.

    3. Asik - was really hard between him and parsons. Asik defense is one of the best in the NBA. He is the definition of a rim protector. Cans guard not only the post but also the perimeter. Only reason I put him at 3 is because he has no one on one offense. Lin brought the best out of his offense last year because of the p&r and his passing ability to get him the ball when he was driving to the paint. I don't think asik would have averaged 10+ points without a pass first pg last year.

3 bev - great spot up shooter, hustle hard type player, good one on one defender. Still need to see him in a fullness on of play.

You do realize that the post he responded to said the following, right?

Notice a team getting left out here? You think this poster has no bias?

Asik struggled against Dwight, does that marginalize his importance or his production?

And Asik defensive impact is inarguable no matter what outlier examples are used. But Lin's ability to take over games is also inarguable. This is a skillset he has shown consistently when opportunities present itself and not some outlier data that can be statistically contrived via projections.

Asik is clearly better than anyone but Harden and Howard and it's not even close. True rim protectors in the NBA make a big impact and are hard to find. Decent PGs are everywhere and so are decent 3-and-D role players on the wing.

If all 3 become unrestricted free agents this coming offseason I guarantee that Asik will get paid more than both of the other guys.

There is a split in the polls here only because Asian fans vote for Lin and fans who love pretty boys vote for Parsons.

So which example was the outlier? I do not recall Lin being manhandled by the Heat as a Rocket. Do you?

Looks like Parsons was the one manhandled by your proffered stats. If your memory is stating that Lin was the reason for those losses than you need medication. Rockets were competitive and the better team pulled it out. That was last season, injuries and chemistry were factors.

    Nice try tho.

Maybe but as of right now 73% of clutch fans disagrees with you.

So in a trade you would let parsons go before asik?

Are you pro twin towers or not?

No. I disagree. Price on the market for centers doesn't determine value. You know that.

That said, the person we make an A-sick trade for could become our #3. Until then, my money is on Lin.

Kid has more fire and determination in him than anyone on the team except Harden and Beverly. Hold it. Did I just contradict myself?

Quit with the Asian vs Pretty boy thing.

My agenda? My agenda in that post was to point out the blatant omission on a claim made by a certain poster.

Claiming that the other two are not good enough to take control of the games against the "champions" Mavs Lakers etc while conveniently omitting Lin's struggles against the true champions, the Heat, is downright ironic and hilarious. And if you didn't think Lin struggled against the Heat as a Rocket, you weren't paying attention.

You may now continue to get your panties in a bunch.

Asik was more important than Parsons last year. But with the anticipated poor mesh with Dwight, there's no doubt to me it's Parsons now.

A very close call between Asik and Lin in my book, but I'm going to give it to Lin because of how closely I have watched how much he has improved and evolved over the years and due to the confidence that I have that he will continue to step it up this year. Last year, Asik would've been ahead of Lin, particularly early in the year when Lin was recovering from injury.

I like Parsons alot, but a good but not great wing is more easily replaceable then an excellent center or point guard.

At the same time, I understand how others might rate Asik and/or Parsons over Lin, as all are relatively young players, and there are different opinions as to how much each will improve this year.

I'd trade Asik before Parsons, but only because of Dwight. If I was drafting for a team I would pick Asik first.
