    Nothing like Artest.

Taller than Artest. Skinnier than Artest. Better quickness than Artest. Good defender, but still, not half the perimeter defender Artest is.

The only similarities they have is that they both play the 2/3, and are better defenders than scorers.

Posey would look GREAT on the Suns, Nets, or Kings.

On the Rockets? He'll look AT LEAST decent, and potentially, 6th man of the year if he shoots better.

You know what I was just thinking...Moochie was kind of our 6th man...I think that, other than the starters, he got the most minutes.

I DO hope that Posey will take a lot of Moochie's minutes - if he can defend the opposing PG, he could always be in with either Franchise or Cat and then either Franchise or Cat could bring the ball up when we have it.

    Marion is a SF/PF, Posey is a SG/SF.

Exactly what we were missing and this is why I am so happy that we got him!!!

I thought "J-Hawk" was that guy for us.

Oh, and I like the comparison with "Scottie Pippen" derrock made.
He will never be as good as Scottie Quittin:) though.

I cannot comment on J-Hawk, but Posey is a little bit taller, was a top 20 pick and has a lot more NBA experience. J-Hawk has not even played against several of these guys at all. Therefore, I would expect Posey to get the nod.

The thing that intrigues me most about Posey other than the defense is that Rudy was discussing how Posey has a good basketball mind. In the radio link, Rudy was talking about how Posey understands how to move without the ball and really understands the game. He mentioned that Denver was considering playing Posey at 1, but his opinion was that Posey did have the mind for that position just not enough ball handling.

Also, Rudy didnt directly say it but agreed with the notion that Posey's FG pct would be a whole lot better in Houston playing with Ming and Francis. The problem in Denver is that the key players have changed so many times that there has been a serious lack of continuity and chemistry. I am interested to see how Posey will play with much better teammates than he had in Denver.

A point has been brought up several times about whether Posey's game is an upgrade over Hawk. Posey's rookie yr, he shot 43% from the field 37% from the arc when he had a good post player in McDyess on his team. Since that point, he has had to become one of the main options as teammates such as McDyess, LaFrentz and Van Exel have been injured and/or traded. A #1 or #2 option is not Posey's game. Also, in addition to Hawkins inconsistent outside shooting, he is not a very good finisher around the rim. It is amazing to me how many times he has messed up after making a perfect cut to the basket, and Ming delivering a pinpoint pass. Either Hawkins fumbles away the pass or cant finish the layup. Finishing at the rim is one of Posey's strong points as are his defensive and rebounding abilities. I think we will see this difference very quickly.

Wouldn't this be against what you thought about Cato and Yao playing on the court at the sametime?

SLA you may want to think about slowing down (Posting) a bit.........but to each his own.

You may have a CC.net record after today.

J Po, a kinder, gentler Artest...we should like this guy! The ? to me is what happens to TMo's minutes as well as the Hawk. J Po could shrink the rotation while adding quality.

Posey seems to have a lot of Doug Christie in him IMO.The guy has the nose for the ball, plays in that faster gear. The defense is always there, yet the offense is suspect, but with upside. When he plays in control, has a role,he is exactly what we need.James would appear to be one of those complimentary players that championship teams need, and I think that's where we're headed eventually.

I think this is the best comparison yet. I also like how Christie has blended into the Kings' system and become an important role player. I hope Posey can do the same. I also think Posey is a bit more athletic as far as slashing to the basket and finishing.

Doug Christie can't score though. But the Kings have an awesome team with plenty of scorers. Doug Christie and Ron Artest are the best defensive guards/forwards. Ben Wallace is the best defensive big man.

I still feel sorry for Hawk...Now he's down to the bottom again but at least plays more than Boki.

Is this the biggest Houston Rockets online community? There are A LOT of members and well over 200 people online at a time. That is amazing. I think it is great. Are you saying that there has never been someone this annoying and who types this much crap?

I guess guards are interchangeable. I said I am totally sorry and we should try putting Kelvin Cato at the 4 spot. I still don't think it's brilliant, but we can try.

Everybody thinks Christie is a really good player now, but if you look at Christie's stats his first few years, they were not better than Posey's. Interesting comparison.

Oh. Too bad! I don't feel special anymore.

On my video game, NBA 2k3 for X BOX...James Posey is rated at 74 and Kenny Thomas is 70. And Kenny Thomas is 6 7 or 6 8??? James Posey is quite tall. We also have another player named Pete Mickeal, but currently he can barely walk. Why did we not cut him but we waived Oscar Torres?

SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS TO WATCH JAMES POSEY TONIGHT PLAY HIS FIRST GAME AS A HOUSTON ROCKET AGAINST THE ATLANTA HAWKS WHO ARE 10-14.

Doug Christie isn't a great scorer, but neither is Posey. Christie is averaging 12 ppg as the 4th or 5th option (Webber, Jackson, Divac, Peja) while Posey was averaging 14 as the first or second. Christie did have a season where he scored 16.5 ppg with the Raptors.

That is the bottom line on the James Posey situation? Okay...

Well, James Posey IS 6'8, you are right he is tall. The bottom line? I hope the Lakers keep losing!!!
