Whoever is perceived to be making Green, Sengun, or #3 look bad at the moment. I think we'll continue to lose next year so maybe coach Silas. Also, I predict Sengun fans and #3 fans will fight over the other player preventing their guy from being a superstar.
I'll be a fan of all 3. Ownership and Silas will be scapegoat, fans will be tired of another tank season.
Will Usman still look like a miss? Will Porter still throw half time (hotdogs?) tantrums and then drive home? Will coach Silly-ass still be the most putrid thing in the entire world? Will John Lucas still be an assh0le? Will Tilman still blow absolute horsecock? (Yes.) Tune in to find out!
It's going to be KPJ because he's competing with at least one backup who is already as good as him. Possibly two or three if we draft Ivey. Tate will be Tate plus 1-2% better from 3pt range, but he's just not as important as the team's PG right now and we don't have any better defenders on the wing than him. Some fans have already started dumping on Tate but I like his character around the young guys. A guy who must carve his way in the league - like a PJ Tucker - is the polar opposite of Wood for example. If you must have a paid vet around, Tate over Gordon/Wood/Schroeder any day.
KPJ. Any player who doesn't think of the Rockets as a huge opportunity can pack their bags. Time to build the culture and buy into it. If Christopher took KPJ's minutes, we'd still have the same team. If Ivey took KPJ's minutes we'd have a new team. If Hayes took KPJ's minutes we'd have a new team. If Rubio takes KPJ's minutes, we have a bunch of young guns learning from a veteran. If KPJ buys into the culture, he can stay.
good analysis. either he signs for a team friendly contract or he'll be shipped out by the deadline and promote christopher. he's going to want too much and we need to get assets before losing him for nothing.
He really is when you factor in all he can do. He could literally be the best catch and shoot player in the NBA playing starter minutes, have a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio, be the most clutch shooter on the team, AND play solid defense while he's doing it at only 21 years old..... and still these crazies would want him cut. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I'm down with clowning whomever as long as it's not THIS man: Dude is the most untouchable player on the Rockets.
He turned 22 in May I believe, but that’s beside the point. Still super young. If he does all those things next season (and he’s capable) how comfortable are you giving him 20+ million per year?
My point was he did those things last season already. The current complaints are despite that. If he does those things again and improves upon last year, you absolutely pay him.
