before the rash of injuries that have plagued Cushing, I wouldve said Cushing...but KJack has remarkably progressed into a legit Corner...who wouldve thought that early on in his career.
Cushing is pretty much the leader of the defense, you don't want to lose either, but I think we could more easily get by without KJax.
If you base the decision on depth, Kjax is expendable with Kevin Johnson clearly going to be a starter and Bouye able to start as a Slot Corner. If Cush plays like he's expected to then he is nearly irreplaceable. The most important positions for RAC's defense is the LBer positions.
It's not really clear where Cushing is in his return. Our D was pretty good without him last year. KJax was right there with JJo as our best DB.
The Texans can be good without Cushing. But they are in deep trouble without K. Jackson. At this point an elite style of play is gravy from Cushing.
If your only criteria is depth, then sure it's Cushing. But KJ is most likely the better player, unless Cush has really returned to 100%.
It's Jackson. You can replace an ILB in free agency, trade or the draft with ease. CB's are rare. Thre's a reason top CB's get paid significantly more than the top inside LB's.
