Sounds sort of like a Mario Elie, Junkyard Dog-esque type of player to me. We need one of those. I'm thinking he can beat out T-Morris for the spot.

I have to admit that Ahmed does have a solid NBA body when I

saw him the last two games. The one thing I like about him is

he has the fundamentals. He was good at spacing himself in the

offense, the basic jumpshot, and passing. Easily the 4th most

impressive player so far (behind Griffin, Maddox, and maybe

Tierre) in my opinion at the summer league games.

actually, he's 6'8" and 242 pounds. The 203 is his height in centimeters.

Ahmed sounds like he is tearing up the SPL like Oscar Torres did last year. Maybe he is Torres' replacement. You know the rockets always find some no-name player to make the squad.

I would have prefer having Langhi there, quite frankly. I hope he lands on his feet.

Before this whole Ahmed Ishmail thing gets out of hand -

    1) NO, he is not tearing up the SPL. He's had decent, solid, unspectacular games.

    2) He has probably put in the 3rd or 4th best performance on our roster in the SPL (which, when you think about it, ain't saying much).

    3) He is prone to turnovers.

    4) He has good fundamental abilities that I've seen. Some of the things I've noticed is that he's willing to put a body on people, and he's got the body to do it. He has shown an ability to pass the ball fluidly - bounce passes, length-of-court passes to initiate breaks, etc. He seems to have good court vision, but I don't think he's that great a ballhandler.

    On a scale of 1-10, here's what I'm seeing this pre-season and where he'd rank :

    Griffin - 9
    Brown - 7
    Tmo - 5
    Ishmail - 5
    Maddox - 3

This doesn't mean he's as good as TMo... :)

    Exactly Dr of Dunk!!

That's what I'm talking about..the guy does have some great meat hooks though, even with the likes of Thorpe.

I saw one play yesterday where he pump faked a pass laterally with one hand and made a fairly nice hook shot directly after the fake to boot.
