Yes he did. I believe Val. Also, according to Val, LeBron did another amazing dunk in which he flew down from heaven with angels all around him, floated in the air of the arena for 20 minutes doing 50+ different poses (tomahawk, windmill, between the legs, between the toes, between the hair, between the butts, 360', 720', forward flip, back flip... After the poses, while still in the air, he showcased his new "Lebron" shoes, and saved a couple lives of children who were drawning in the restrooms, flew over to the suite to shake hand with David Stern and said "Just do it!" to the microphone before flew over to the basket. Underneath the rim, Shaq was standing on top of Yao, who was standing on top of Ben Wallace, trying to block the shot. Lebron still dunked the ball over all of them, and the dunk was so violent that it caused a 6.4 degree earthquake in the Cleveland area. ... Yup, Lebron should participate in the dunk contest. Right, Val?
Mabe but in this case no... but if anything has been exaggerated it's his hieght being listed at 5'9"...
JR Smith & Chris Anderson of the Hornets are probably both going to participate this year from what they are saying in the media.
Verticals in basketball are like 40 yard times in football. Most are exaggerated, but the point is the dude can get up ... and seeing a guy under 6' dunk effortlessly is something I would like to see, especially if he can has trick dunks.
I said it in another thread but I'll say it here too, Lebron would not beat Jrichardson or Desmond Mason if they were in it. I don't even know if he'd beat the 3 guys that are in it this year.
i am LMAO at DeAleck's post. kids drowning in the restroom, saying "just do it" into the mic, and shaq/yao/big ben waiting for him under the hoop. good work.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...cavaliers-james-dunkcontest&prov=ap&type=lgns Hang time: LeBron undecided on All-Star dunk By TOM WITHERS, AP Sports Writer February 16, 2005 CLEVELAND (AP) -- Usually the one with his feet off the floor, LeBron James has everyone else hanging. With the NBA's All-Star dunk contest in Denver just a few days away, the Cleveland Cavaliers star forward hasn't decided whether he'll take part against the league's other premier leapers. ``It is a 'yes or no' answer,'' said James, who has been pressed about a decision nearly every day for the past few weeks. ``I just haven't decided if I'll do it or not. You know me, I'm a last-minute person.'' James skipped last year's dunk contest in Los Angeles, partially because he was upset at not being picked as a reserve for the Eastern Conference's All-Star team as a rookie. James, who recently missed a few games with a sprained ankle, may wait until Friday before he makes up his mind. The league has not yet officially announced the participants in Saturday night's dunk contest, at one time the highlight of All-Star Weekend festivities. Atlanta rookie Josh Smith said he has been asked to compete along with J.R. Smith of New Orleans and Amare Stoudemire of Phoenix. Denver was the site of the NBA's first dunk contest in 1984 and the ABA dunk-off between Julius Erving and David Thompson in 1976. James has a standing invitation from the league, which would love to see him compete and possibly help fans forget about some of the turbulence from the first half of the 2004-05 season. If he doesn't dunk, who does James think will win? ``I know if Josh Smith is in it, he's got a great shot,'' he said. ``If Jason Richardson is in it, he's always got a great shot. Everyone thinks I should be in it.'' James, arguably the league's best in-game dunker, would certainly help elevate the event, which has lost some of its luster in recent years. It's not like the old days when Erving, Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, Larry Nance -- the first champion -- or even tiny Spud Webb dazzled crowds and TV audiences with their gravity-defying stuffs. James, too, wishes the league's top young stars took part. But with other commitments, it's not easy to get them out there. ``It would be nice for the fans, but you don't want to force anybody to do it if they don't want to do it,'' he said.
Chris Anderson and Amare were THE 2 worst dunkers last year and oh what do you know, they are back this year...
I don't think Amare and Anderson are very creative with their dunks. I think the NBA should've invited Tony Allen!
http://www.nba.com/allstar2005/rising_stars/dunk_050216.html If Lebron chooses to go, he will be in it, supposdley. Dont see why not, he endorses Sprite and im sure the company would pay x amount of dollars if he decides to do it.
Allen would be nice. Also Andre Iguodala has some serious ups. He had a nice tomahawk over and thru Rasheed Wallace tonight. I would rather seem them in the contest then Bird Man. Big men dunking in the contest hasn't been the same since the days of Shawn Kemp. Hopefully Amare will have more to his routine than before.
Yeah I was surprised that Iguodala never got an invite. He'd be a much better candidate than Amare or the Birdman, who have both already been in there and not really been that impressive.
2 Worst? Chris Andersen should have won it last year. He'll get 2nd this year, behind Josh Smith..unless Amare's stardom helps him win.
