At least they play better ball than the Rockets do, they might not go far, but nor we will, the product Rockets put on the floor is just ugly...
I don't think that being able to throw money at 2nd tier guys qualifies you as having the best BBIQ. The Mavs are what we would call the "mediocrity treadmill", and I don't see anyone here satisfied when we're in that situation.

The Mavs are doing well, playing to their full potential, they may exceeded that a little , but remember , about 50 games left in the season . I won't be surprised if they drop to the 7th seed or the Rockets chasing that 3rd seed.
I admit the Rockets miss Rick Adelman. He had a plan. He had an offense. He could draw a play during a timeout that I had faith in. McHale's / J B's plan? Play harder?!? Take timeout to draw up a turnover or shot clock violation. WTF? Let's play smarter! I have been witnessing an offense in regression since Adelman was dismissed. We only had success on the heroics of Harden, 3point Shooting, and D-mo and Josh Smith's unexpected great play, and a decent defense. Now with no go-to plays and a defense weakened by turnovers and bad shot selection by the offense... My 2016 wish - lets play smarter, more efficient basketball. Play smarter, before playing harder.
Give little credit to Cuban or Donnie Nelson and give way more credit to Carlisle. One thing I'll always give Cuban credit for is the Arena experience. Games at the AAC are always more fun than at Toyota Center with the excellent video production team the Mavs have and use.
I would have went to a mavs site and talked **** after the rockets ****ed yo the mavs in a short sweet gentleman so sweep but then I remembered I don't live in my moms basement
