I'd still take Lebron. 27, 7, and 7 on 47% shooting vs. 20, 5.6, and 2.6 on 42% shooting. Melo also has a better supporting cast with an actual point guard and five teammates averaging double figures in scoring. Lebron plays three positions on a nightly basis. Plus, Lebron has been more consistent, even with the new owner practically destroying the team. Melo needed a coaching change to light a fire under him...
gordon gund - the guy sold the team at just the right moment, and is now sipping margaritas as this ship falls back to earth.
me too.. I cant stand all the hype surrounding this guy. I love watching Lebron play but I get tired of all the praise the media heaps on this guy. Maybe its not his fault but it is annoying since our own team never seems to get the credit it deservers. So im rooting for the Cav's demise just because I cant stand the media licking someone's balls all the time. I dont like the idea of the media and the league annointing him the savior before he has done anything. He has a better team than Tmac and cant take them to the playoffs. Lebron / Big Z / JMcinnis / ESnow / DGooden (solid team) TMac / JHoward / TLue / DGooden / ??? / ??? J
I would vote for "ME" also... I'm gonna be happy to see the media bite into Bron after a year of ass kissing..
Ummm...yeah, there's this 7'6" Chinese guy...you might have heard of him, his name is Yao... From top to bottom, the Rockets are better than the Cavs. McGrady/Yao and Lebron/Z is pretty much a wash Gooden>Spoon McGinnis/Newble = Sura/Wesley Where the Rockets kill the Cavs is the bench. Mutumbo/James/Barry/Padgett is probably one of the top 5 bench rotations in the NBA...
he said "BE" not "HAVE" no question a team would rather have lebron, but right now it's good to be carmelo because he's in the playoffs
Another "Me" vote from me. It is a blessing I don't have to watch that ugly Tomohawk jam from James in the playoff any more.
I'd rather BE James than Anthony. James is the far superior player, will have a much more distinguished career, likely have more playoff success in the long run, more likely to be in the HOF, makes and will continue to make much more money, has more power in the league, has and will have many more fans, and will attract more honies. I think he can tolerate missing a couple of 1st-and-out opportunities.
yeah count me in as wanting to be the guy with the $102M nike contract who puts up 27/7/7, and will become one of the greatest players of all time and have plenty of years of playoff success versus the guy who will be in the playoffs for the next 2 weeks. i'll use the off time to count my money. and the tmac, lue, howard, gooden team didn't go to the playoffs. they won 19 games and were possibly the worst team in the league.
...because both Howard and Lue were on the Magic when McGrady took them to the playoffs three years in a row (2001, 2002, 2003) Edit: Oops...Howard and Lue weren't on those squads. Regardless, McGrady's supporting cast on those Orlando teams were much worse the LeBron's current one.
Yes, T-Mac didn't do it with Howard and Lue. But T-Mac did went to playoffs 3 stright season before last year. With cast of Mike Miller, Darrell Armstrong, Bo Outlaw, and Pat Garrity.
Cleveland might still squeek in. New Jersey plays Washington and Boston. Cleveland plays Boston and Toronto. Washington is racing with Chicago for seeding, so they will be playing hard. Boston also has some incentive (against both teams), to make sure they keep homecourt advantage in future rounds against the likes of Chicago and Washington. Toronto, on the other hand, is racing for lottery balls and has a strong incentive to lose. So, Cleveland will likely finish 1-1 at worst. New Jersey could well finish with 2 losses and fall out of the playoffs again.
Well, the Celtics rested their starters tonight and the Cavs won... so technically they're still in this thing.
