Who is better Dwight or Yao?

Dwight Howard isn't even a true center. He's really a power forward.

And Carlos Boozer is better than Dwight Howard.

 

Why do you think Howard isn't a "true center"? What is a "true center" by your definition? Just curious.

 

He:

- jumps center
- defends the opposing team's center
- is defended by the opposing team's center
- doesn't handle the ball away from the basket
- strictly scores around the basket
- leads his team in rebounding and blocks

By any meaningful standard, he's a "center". And if you're saying that he's not a center because he's athletic and he can run the court, then Hakeem and David Robinson weren't centers either.

I would go with Howard. He is more athletic and effective at the low post.

Above all, the officiating for big men like Yao is ridiculous. If you look at Shaq, it's not a coincidence that he is not getting 30+ numbers, not even 20 these days. Yao is making numbers because of his outside shots.

For Dwight, give him a real point guard like Kidd, Nash or Chris Paul, then you're an automatic playoff contender.

 

Same can be said for Yao when he gets a real point guard on his team.

And when Yao pwns Dwight Howard this month, I like to see what kind of excuses the Dwight Howard nuthuggers will have to say. Cause in all their previous meetings, Yao always outplayed Dwight Howard!
