Who is better Dwight or Yao? Apparently, 6/10 Rockets fans would choose Dwight "in a heartbeat". Although, by all the posts, the number actually seems closer to 8/10. Likewise, this goes without saying, 10/10 Magic fans would choose Dwight, and would probably laugh at you if you posed the the question in the first place. So, there's your answer. Fans don't lie.
GTFO. Fans don't lie but I doubt we have more than 20% true Rockets fans here. You are one of those obviously just trolling around.
yao would need his teammates' support big time if he's to look good against Howard when we play Olando...he's gonna need help defense against Howard and his teammate to pass him the ball on the other end so he can get enough shots to outscore Howard...but right now yao's doing himself a disservice by whining to the media about them...if yao loses head-to-head, the debate is over and dwight howard won't ever look back.
People, Howard and the Magic have lost two in a row at home against the Pacers and Hawks. They started to tumble at this same point last year. Let's see how they react. Howard may be hitting a rough patch. Then again, if Yao continues to play awful like the last couple of games, it won't matter.
I think currently in their respective careers, Yao is the better man. However Yao is hitting 30 in a few years and Dwight is still very Young. I won't be surprised if Dwight's ceiling will end up being higher than Yao's, especially in an NBA system where athleticism is more rewarded than size. I'd still pick Yao tho. Yao da man.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. Check their head-to-head history. I think it's because Yao is so massive (slow yes, but still massive) and tall that Howard can't just overpower him and make layups/dunks over him like he can everyone else. And since Howard has no range, Yao can just wait for him in the paint, so Howard can't take as much advantage of Yao's slowness as say, someone like Boozer who has an all around game, inside and outside. But I guess we'll see Dec. 19 though.
You know what would be interesting? When the magic come to town, have the reporter ask Francis who he thinks is the best Center in the NBA right now. He'll probably say yao think he's such good friend with him, but i'm sure he knows how good Dwight has become since playing with him back in orlando.
At this point, i.e., after 23 games into the season, Yao and Howard are dead even in the net 48-minute PER category: Code: Self Opp Net Yao 24.9 14.0 10.9 DHo 26.4 15.5 10.9 Team records are undoubtedly in favor of Howard, but Yao's Rockets has been playing on a much tougher schedule: http://teamrankings.com/nba/27powerratings.php3
