I played WR for six years (Football), the weird thing is that I seem to like basketball more but I have never played organized ball. FOOTBALL/BASKETBALL the best two sports on the face of the earth!
I wish I would of played football, I was asked numerous times, think by all the coaches why I didnt play, for some reason they liked my broad shoulders and build....I never saw any point though.
I did basketball, football, and track in junior high (7th and 8th). I then dropped football and stuck to basketball and track in high school all four years. Now that I think back on it, I had a pretty interesting time in track. I usually did something new every year, especially in high school. I started off high jumping for 3-4 years; then I threw the shotput/discus; and then I long/triple jumped my senior year. I was also either on the sprint relay teams or an alternate most of the time, along with my other running events. I think the only events that were available that I didn't do were hurdles and long distance running (other events, like pole vault, weren't coached at my school). Hehe...I also served as a manager/trainer/block holder this past year since I got hurt 2-3 weeks into the season. I could probably be a pretty good HS track coach if I wanted to be.
Over here in Australia the system is very different even so... I played Rugby League for my high school from year 8 to year 11. I played Touch Football (While I guess its a bit like flag football for your guys but played unjder Rugby League rules) from year 7 to year 11. Outside of Footy the only other thing I did was Bowling. When I was baout 13 my family went Bowling during school holidays and a person at the alley came up and asked if I wasnted to join a league. I joined a Wed night league and it was good fun. I ended up representing my district and we ended up winning the State title. After that, I kind of got sick of it and gave it away. It was going from just having fun bowling to people spending hundreds of dollars on strapping and crap for their arms....I was a footy player and Bowling was just something I did for sh*ts and giggles, so that was the end of that for me.
HS: -3 years WR (league leader in yards, but our QB took all the major awards). -2 years floor hockey (3rd line, then 2nd line). -1 year b-ball (8th man). -Badminton Doubles Provincial Champ College (i'm in my third year and have mostly stayed away from organized sports in order to pursue my studies diligently...however...): -basketball team is just starting up, and i'm projected by most to be the starting SG...so i think i'll play. lots of the players on the team are saying they'd want me to be the captain as well. i'm simply a role player, 3 point shooter and solid defender, but if the team blends well, i should be able to get 10-15ppg.
Played Basketball, Football, and Track during Middle School. Played Football and Track during High School.
HOLY CRAP, I tried out for the Hot Shots and made it to the 3rd stage before I ran out of gas. (and all I got was that lousy t-shirt!) You remember at what percentage that coach said we were after the first stage?
High School: 4 years football (2 time unanimous All-District and All-State, woo me!) 1 year of wrestling (first year of program was senior year, otherwise would've participated as much as possible) 1 year basketball (JV) College: 2 years football (DIII, all conference sophmore year, had to leave due to finances) And 5 years semipro football before my body decided to let me know it was time to stop punishing myself.
had an offer (scholarship) to play basketball at Michigan St. and turned it down because i knew i would be homesick LOL. Very stupid I know.
Football as a freshman Tennis as a senior I found I was better at academic type stuff than sports, so I did Science Olympiad and Academic Decathalon. It turns out that nerds are not chick magnets, despite what Revenge of the Nerds tells us.
2 1/2 years of Lacrosse at UT. Since then, I've had crippling arthritis and can barely even walk now. Talk about a complete 180.
4 years of H.S. school soccer, 3 of them on varsity. Played club soccer from 12-18. About to get on a mens team.
