the same folks that are mad at me are probably the ppl that thought francis still had game when we got him back
I haven't given up. 1.) It's obvious he can still play but something mental, physical, whatever is limiting him. 2.) Whether we like it or not, he's a part of this team this season. Next season would be the year to decide to move him or not since he's an expiring contract. 3.) I want so much to see him at least win one series in a Rockets uniform. For all the hate he gets around here, he sure has provided us with a lot of entertainment and memories for his relatively short tenure here thus far. 4.) His lack of playoff success has NOT been his fault. 5.) Although we seem to really suffer as a team when he's out, I can live with it if it means he'll be there the majority of the time and in the playoffs. The season is still relatively young, so I'm not giving up just yet. If we find out he'll miss the majority of this season, then I'll revisit this topic. For the time being, I await the results of his appointment today.
it sure would be great if we could somehow pass the first round with him. I get sick of the trash talk especially from the mormons fans. they shouldn't talk! they have no rings, and I hope sloan NEVER gets one
I'm haven't given up yet on either Tracy or Yao but I'm getting there. It's a long season and if both guys get healthy for the playoffs (which is unlikely based on history), the Rockets might do some damage. It's way too early in the season to give up.
RaferMadness you seem like a good guy but I definitely think its too soon to say that they're done for their entire careers. All of our stars are putting up sub-career avg numbers. For a numbers driven fanbase, that does disappoint. We are seeing better numbers from others like Brooks and Landry. I think we'll get better given time. If Yao hadn't had those couple freak injuries, I think he wouldn't be labeled injury prone. The stress fracture does scare me about his prospects but it doesn't mean that he is done. Just look at Big Z.
Haters will hate just because. That's what makes them haters. If a person really looks at his series performances, you can't really say he lost those series. But you can say he didn't go and win them. You can say he made every effort to, but came short. Very few players have been able to do it themselves, and as much as I think we have a great squad they haven't really shown us too much in the post season minus the series against Dallas. I honestly believe if you plug in any player into T-Macs shoes since being here in Houston, very few would have done any differently. Just my opinion. I can't even say with a *high* level of certainty that Kobe or LeBron would have done much better. Of those two, I've only seen LeBron win without much in his corner. And he plays with Big Z who is more synonymous with Yao.
It's hard to really hate on T-Mac when you have no idea how bad he's hurting. I just hope by the playoffs he realizes this is probably the best chance he has to win a championship and put everything on the line without thinking about the future at all.
That's it right there man. If people can take step back from the bashing, maybe T-Mac needs to realize it's pretty much now or never. If that doesn't get him to play all out with the pain (which I believe he really does try despite the popular concensus), then nothing will.
When we were winning 22 in a row, shocking the league by playing with unmatched heart and determination.... where was the "Who gave up on Yao" thread. Who was the guy out there fighting!? Who was the guy sitting out!? When we went to Utah, Game 6, trying to stave off elimination, there was one man out there laying it all on the floor. Facing an early deficit, he brought us back into the game at halftime all by himself, and still continued his tear to the very end for 40/10/5. I didn't see a "Who gave up on Yao" thread. Like Yao said, "It's time to pay him back". We(the true fans) are not giving up on anything. We appreciate what T-Mac has and is doing for the team. None of you here know what kind of pain is in that knee. I wish the haters here could feel whatever pain he's going thru then go try to play a pickup game. Melo left last night's game with a hurt elbow, I'm sure you won't hear any Nuggets fan being a b**** about it. Last year, when Yao said he felt pain in his foot he still played. When that dreaded day in February came, everyone was like.... "Why the **** was he playing if his foot was hurt!?" "Why didn't he have it examined!?" "Why so much minutes!? "Why this..... why that....". But T-Mac wants to get his knee examined and be cautious.... "T-Wack is a b****" "McLady is a vagina" "McFairy quit on the team" "McBaby this..... McFakey that...." T-Mac haters, STFU!!!
If you have given up on tmac, then you have given up on the team's chance to do somehing amazing this year. We can win lots of games without him, but we wont make it past the first round. So, if you've given up on tmac, please give up on the rest of the season and stop posting. I'm sick of reading posts on how bad we suck every time we lose a game. Go find another team and dont dare be a bandwagon fan if/when Tmac starts lighting up the courts.
I haven't given up on T-Mac, just the notion of him ever being completely healthy until he stops playing basketball...
I rather say we will lose a lot of games without him. Who else besides him can create a shot for themselves and others???
We punished SA on Saturday without him. Once Battier is back for good, I think we can win probably 75% of our games without Tracy. Ron just needs a little work, Yao needs to step up and play like a superstar, Rafer needs better shot selections, and our bench is deep.
I wonder if people in Miami were saying this same thing about Wade last year? Never give up, never surrender ! DD
