I always sleep with a portable fan in the room. I even try to take one if we go on a trip to someplace without one. I don't even have the fan blowing on me, its just for the noise. Drowns out all the other house noises. I can't sleep with a ceiling fan, however, as it makes my throat hurt.
I use a small portable fan called a Sleepmate aka Sleeper. My dad got me started on one a long time ago because at our old house, his room was connected to mine and I always heard that thing. Over time, I got used to it and now I have to have it as I am an incredibly light sleeper. I remember my roommate my sophomore year in college used to make fun of me all the time and even tried to break me from using it, but he was unsuccessful.
I guess the only bad thing about using fans to drown out noises is if someone is breaking into your house. One would probably have no idea until it's too late.
Cant sleep without it. I hate it when I don't have it in a hotel room...I'll end up laying there for hours before I fall asleep. I always wake up a little groggy, but the sleep is worth it.
Ha, I knew I wasn't the only one this happens to. I MUST sleep with a fan to the side of the bed, but do not face it towards me. I just need the steady sound or else I'd never fall asleep. TV's to bright, radio keeps me up listening to idiotic callers, but the fan works great.
We have ceiling fans, but my wife has too... Not me, cause' sometimes it dry's me out... I use one occasionally, but it's not a need...
I often times can sleep without a fan, but I must have at least have ONE groupie with me. Fans are great, but Groupies can take you somewhere special.
I sleep with a both a ceiling and desktop fan running on most nights. However, if I've been rocking out with the band at loud volumes, I skip the desktop because it aggravates my tinitus.
Who arms their alarm systems when their home? I don't think most people do. A lot of people don't have alarm systems as well.
I sleep with a ceiling fan on in the summer, but I keep my air purifier going 24/7. At night I turn it up to medium -- not only does it help me breath easier, but its soothing white noise ensures I can sleep through the sound of anything the cats decide to break during the night.
That's totally me. Now I think I have my wife addicted to it also. Course, up here in Utah we have swamp coolers, (like the big one at the Astrodome) which we tend to run all day long. Who'd have ever thought of putting moisture BACK into the air?
