IF they get the minutes and the right touches/plays in the playoffs, Lin and Greg Smith. Smith has been great in the post. Sure, he got the ball poked away a couple of times in the Suns game, but those are things from which he will learn, and though they are "ugly" mistakes, they aren't any worse than other types of turnovers (bad passes, dribbling off of someone's foot, holding the ball too long, not seeing the open man, etc.). For Lin, as long as he is given the freedom (and decides to take it, instead of being so unselfish), he will rise to the occasion as he has done time and again throughout his career.

Tough one. Asik is already so good, but he has such undeveloped offensive potential. He's athletic enough to be an offensive force, which would make him a top center.

Jones and DMO also have huge potential. So does Jeremy Lin.

In the end... I went Asik.

Only people after 2012 actually thinks Link will be the most improved lol. I think one person here before that voted for Lin.

Old Rockets don't like Lin =/.

A lot of people are just scared to say Lin out right because of the labeling that's been going on around here. I think it's very obvious to me that Lin has the greatest unrealized potential along with Dmo and Jones. Just the fact that they keep flashing greatness in the season is a sign.

6.8 without shoes.. Hes undersized, but like I said if he expands his game so he can play more SF that would be great. 7 ft PF doesn't necessarily need to block shots just altering shots with there length is just as effective if not more.

Jones and Parsons, they have shown that they can be individual stars, Parson has shown more and Jones and been given a very small window. Lin won't ever be better than Linsanity so he hit his ceiling. A different role or coach can make Lin look better than he currently does with the Rocks. Jones and Parson could be All Stars at some point and seem to always be improving. So far I don't have high hopes for Thomas. DMo...I can't see it and Smith is a perfect role playing, he is a junk yard dog. Asik is the ultimate role player, high motor no coordination.

Okay what the hell is this poll.

I picked donuts because I was under the assumption we are talking about who has the highest unreached ceiling aka. greatest unrealized potential.

Now I realized the poll states who will show their potential in the playoffs, and that cannot be D-Mo because he won't get minutes.

I guess I could be a little more specific, but honestly I'm enjoying seeing how different fans are choosing to interpret the question. I was tempted to ask who would have the most potential for next season but I realized we are really entering into the season all of use have missed these last 3 years. The post season. And quite honestly, as much as I look forward to the next step for this team (free agency this off season), I believe/hope we are all going to be pleasantly surprised by the way our teams character shows itself in a 7 game series against one of the best teams in the league.

I voted Lin but the more I read the more I hope/expect to see James Harden become truly elite. Offense/defense/intangibles.

surprised by all the Jones votes. Not surprised by all of the Lin votes.

I voted Harden, I believe he'll reach another level in the playoffs.

    TRob gets my vote

Harden will improve, but it may not show up in the stats.

Lin will top out at around 17-18 pts, 7-8 assists. Above average, but not elite.

Parsons will improve marginally, but I think he is who he is to some degree.

Asik will be a mediocre offensive threat at his peak, which isn't a bad thing given his contributions on the other end.

I don't think TJones has the athleticism to be an elite threat, and he needs to speed up his shooting mechanics. To me, he's a future average starter and great bench player.

DMo is really hard to tell. His skill level is through the roof, but I'm not sure when/if he will get to the size he needs to be elite.

TRob has massive upside. Great shooting form (even though they aren't going in right now), already a good rebounder, elite athleticism, potential to be a good defender that can cover the 3 and 4 spots. He is Josh Smith with a better basketball IQ. He has the work ethic, so I think all he needs is time.

I'm an old Rockets fan. For me it has nothing to do with disliking Lin. I like and respect the kid. Rockets fans root for the team, and by extension the players on it. We may get frustrated with players when they make mistakes, but I've yet to meet a Rockets fan that truly wanted a player to fail for personal reasons.

I've said it before but the ire you see from the "Old Rockets" is most likely caused by some of the irrational criticisms by the "newer" fans. My younger brother had a new girlfriend that used to come over and watch Texans games with us. She was new to watching football but she loved Kevin Walter. She got mad when Schaub didn't throw to him and didn't understand why. Obviously not a direct comparison to Lin, he's better at his respective sport and position than Walter had been, but the sentiment was the same.

I agee parsons is going to have the 2nd best wing defender on him every night and he is a nightmare to defend even for the best defenders. Plus he is the only player on our team that consistently plays at a solid to high level. Parsons never has those games that make your entire outlook of him go down the drain. in the playoffs he will play like a star and be the difference that gets us past the first round

18 and 8 is pretty freakin elite. Those are all-star numbers especially when you throw in his steals
